A piece of paper containing the writer's signature and a part of the delivery address is missing from the letter
Amos A. Phelps sends to the Executive Committee of the American Anti-Slavery Society a set of resolutions unanimously adopted by the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Abolition Society, which recommend that the Executive Committee of the American Anti-Slavery Society invite John Scoble to come to the United States and Lecture on emancipation in the British West Indies for a few years. Phelps adds that he got an impression that Scoble would accept the invitation if it is made privately and not through the papers
