Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white lined paper. Below the salutation, the number "18" is written in pencil
George Jeffrey Tillotson writes to Amos A. Phelps about his meetings with pastors in Litchfield County, Connecticut, stating he "induced most of them to present the cause to their peo[ple], & have myself preached & taken up subscriptions in more than a dozen congregations." He shares news of a classmate, "James Smith of Glastonbury," who "is getting to be a great man." Tillotson tells Phelps he can loan him 400 dollars and said that Phelp's mother assured him this amount "would probably answer t[he] purpose. He also gives Phelps directions to Brooklyn in case Phelps would like to come pick up the loan
