William Lloyd Garrison is delighted that Samuel Joseph May has returned home from the water cure in Glen Haven. He thanks May for writing to President Walker of Harvard University on behalf of Garrison's son Wendell; Wendell Phillips Garrison will be one of ten to receive scholarships from the bequest of John E. Thayer. William L. Garrison begs May to be careful of his health. Garrison gives news of his other sons: George is employed in Minnesota and William works in a bank in Lynn. All of William L. Garrison's children desire to live without blemish
