The Bureau of Mines, Helium Operations, is responsible for the administration of the Federal Helium Program. The makeup of this organization includes an Assistant Director--Helium Operations, located in Washington, D.C.; General Manager--Helium Field Operations, and five organizational groups under the direction of the General Manager; all located in or near Amarillo, Texas. The five Branches are: the Office of Planning and Analysis; Branch of Helium Resources; Branch of Engineering; Branch of Plant Operations; and the Branch of Administration.
