These extracts interpret William Lloyd Garrison's anti-slavery zeal. Garrison discusses his friendship with J. G. Whittier, a visit to Haverhill, his devotion to colored people, and a conspiracy to arrest and deliver Garrison to Georgia. The letters dated March 4 and March 18, 1833 are addressed to the "Inquirers of Truth," a group of three women consisting of Harriet Minot Pitman, Harriott Plummer Bartlett, and Elizabeth E. Parrott Hughes. The other letters are to Harriet Minot Pitman and are dated March 19, March 26, April 3, April 9, April 22, and May 1, 1833
