William Lloyd Garrison has just received Mrs. Abby Kelley Foster's reply to his letter of July 25. He regrets that it shows no abatement of anger. She need not have gone to such lengths to prove her integrity since he never questioned it. He reviews her treatment of the Republican party. He points out the inconsistency of collecting donations for the treasury of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society from its leaders by claiming that abolitionist help would give the Republicans an advantage over their Democratic opponents and urging the passage of a resolution condemning the Republican party at the New England Anti-Slavery Convention
