This is a farewell letter, full of expressions of appreciation for James Manning Winchell Yerrinton's character and skill. (William Lloyd Garrison concluded the newspaper the Liberator.) Garrison writes: "How I shall miss the old printing-office and your pleasant companionship!" As a token of his appreciation, Garrison gives Yerrinton a book and invites him to Fanny Garrison's wedding. (The book just mentioned was Charles Anderson Dana's The Household Book of Poetry.)
