The Liberator newspaper is so crowded that there is no room for the notices sent by Samuel May, Jr. The Sunday meeting in the town hall was large, but no collection was taken due to a misunderstanding. Today, William Lloyd Garrison leaves for a trip to the Catskill Mountains with his son, William Lloyd Garrison, Jr. William C. Nell has gone west. Mr. Johnston of Topham, Vermont, writes of a strong prejudice against William L. Garrison in various towns. Garrison does not want the expense of a Vermont campaign now. He cares little for the state and will not "sue for a hearing."
