Handwritten copy of letter; not William Lloyd Garrison's handwriting
William Lloyd Garrison apologizes for the delay in thanking Caroline C. Thayer for her note and accompanying gifts; Garrison was waiting until the enclosed volume of Garrison's writings was properly bound before sending his thanks. Garrison will highly prize the "sculpted semblance" of Theodore Parker. Garrison describes Theodore Parker as "a brave hearted reformer of no common stature, who, though now popularly decried and rejected, is building for himself a most solid frame. May he long be preserved, perfecting himself in knowledge in grace, and mightily aiding in the redemption of an oppressed and suffering world!"
