Change in wordings

The better and simple way to make an attempt is to change the wordings. People might have got bored seeing the same banner and the same text. "Wiki Loves Monuments: Photograph a monument, help Wikipedia and win!" sounds very introductory. Brain storming

I think it's important that we just come up with a bunch of ideas, most of which we'll discard, but as long as we get a few that work, that strike a chord, even if on the surface they might seem silly, then we'll have succeeded.

It's been pointed out that there are two types of contributors 1) hard-core mass uploaders and 2) newbies. I suggest we concentrate on attracting the newbies, the hard core just need(ed) one look at a banner and start(ed) without much help from us.

A new design might work as well as new words, e.g. a photo that covers most of the banner. We'd need to get a release from the uploader because we won't be able to give proper attribution on a CC-BY license.

Minor changes

I bolded "Wiki Loves Monuments" and added a comma based on the Wikipedia MOS in the banners - these are very minor, but if anyone objects please let me know. —Mono 04:08, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Update to English text

Can we agree on an update to the English text now, so that we can change the CentralNotice text this weekend (Sat 21st Sept)? The change will not affect non-English countries, who can do something totally different if desired.

• I disagree, I think they are not descriptive enough. Thank you means nothing - just say the contest will end soon. Besides, we don't want people's pictures of their Yosemite trip.
