How do I change image category after I uploaded the image?
You do not have to remove the image to change category (for example, from general images to microscopy). Just press "Edit" button on top right corner of the page and find the words [[Category:category name]] (you can use Ctrl+F on the keyboard for this) and change the category you don't need to the category you wish the image would have.

For example from [[Category:General category images from European Science Photo Competition 2015]] to [[Category:Microscopy images from European Science Photo Competition 2015]]. Press "Save page" button. This will move the image from Category:General category images from European Science Photo Competition 2015 to Category:Microscopy images from European Science Photo Competition 2015

How do I add the image to a Wikipedia page after I uploaded it?
You can watch a video tutorial and follow the instructions:

Or read the detailed tutorial:

Why does my file say "This media file is uncategorized?" and how can I change it?
For improving usefulness of images on Wikimedia Commons they are categorized according to subjects. For example, an image about neuron File:PLoSBiol4.e126.Fig6fNeuron.jpg goes into several categories, each having more images, linked by the subject:

To categorize your image, you can search for the categories using the search box at the top right corner of a page, or you can find an image that is similar to your image by subject and copy categories from that image. The categories are located at the bottom of a page.

I've forgotten how I named the files. How do I find them after I uploaded them?
It is quite easy to do. You can find the buttons to show the list of your contributions as well as your uploads at the top right of the page (any page) on Wikimedia Commons.

This file shows you how the "Uploads" button looks like if your language is set to English (please note that the "⧼mycontribs⧽" button is located right next to it). Just press it and the list of your uploads will be shown so you can locate the file you are interested in.
