EN > Faced to comments, I've tried to translate as clearly as possible my introduction : Months passing, I published a great number of photographs emphasizing French architectural treasures in particular those from Pyrenees. Today, I propose myself to become administrator to work more actively within the community. I would work more easily with the French-speaking people although I understand also English and Spanish. I've found many errors in descriptions of photographs and corrected some of them. I hope to continue with your support if possible. Carrying out studies in history (licence passed) and loving the French architectural treasures, I would diversify my work and take part more in Wikimedia and Wikipedia. Your votes will decide...

OpposeNothing personal. Florent, you appear to be a nice person, but I think you are inexperienced with administrative work. If you want to advice people, you can start doing it at once, and don't need adminship for that. / Fred J 16:09, 27 August 2007 (UTC)- Changing to Neutral. / Fred J 06:37, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Support We have relatively few French-speaking admins who are regularly active. French is a top-5 Wikipedia so it's a good idea to have more admins. Florent wants to help and seems to have a good attitude towards community. That's enough for me. --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 10:51, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

- Main question is - can I trust a User - or maybe not. I don't see a cause not to trust Florent. It seems, we don't have to suspect nonsence or abuse. Support Marcus Cyron 12:22, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

- Support - pourquoi pas? Bonnes contributions - je suis convaincu que Florent sera un administrateur efficace. WjBscribe 20:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Neutral Unsure about experience and not sure whether the user needs the tools. Adminship is not a status and admins do not have more to say in image classification. Admins are servants of the community and not their guardians. -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

- Support per pfctdayelise thinking. I thinks the benefits to the community of granting the tools out weights the noted concerns. FloNight♥♥♥ 15:20, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

- Unfortunately most of the people won’t understand your introduction. --Polarlys 17:31, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
- Then somebody should translate it. Being able to speak English should not be a requirement for adminship imho. -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:15, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

- Question: what would you use your admin tool for? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 02:36, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Very present on Wikimedia Commons, I would like to help more actively the users. I would reinforce the assistance proposed to the French-speaking persons. Being admin, I would have more legitimity to advise the users for example with regard to the classification of the images. I could still help them when they propose the suppression of images without being able to do it by themselves. I would keep an eye on the publication of images with regard to "my fields of knowledge". For example, I could more easily correct the errors concerning the localization or the name of the places and monuments of France. I'm conscious that the admin can also block and unblock users, protect or unprotect pages. I hope not to have to do it. Florent Pécassou 08:21, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, do admins really have more legitimity to advice about classification of images? I personally don't think this is correct. / Fred J 16:05, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Good remark. But, anybody who is not an admin, will he realy leave by himself a message on an user's talk page to encourage him to classify his images if this user haven't asked anything ? Beyond the capacities conceded to the admin, I think the admin has got a broader role : to take care of the good walk of the publications. Florent Pécassou 18:34, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I am not an admin, and yet I will really leave by myself a message on a user's talk page to encourage him to classify his images if this user haven't asked anything. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 10:29, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's your right. You're free. I know that you like to leave messages sometimes threatening on the pages of other users without having the tools to achieve your threats (as on my talk page : "if... you will lose your privilege of editing your talk page"; see below). I prefer to present myself to community of voters before leaving such messages if necessary. Good continuation in your work on Wikimedia Commons. You makes valuable work but your style of interaction with other users is different than mine. Florent Pécassou 19:17, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Cecil, I've activated my e-mail function. Thanks for your vote. Florent Pécassou 14:53, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for your message. I will take your advice. I noted that you also want to become an admin. Cecil and TeVe, other candidates for adminship have received similar messages... Florent Pécassou 15:08, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
