What exactly do the images contribute that words do not already accomplish? Why are they labeled "votes" contrary to Wikipedia policy? 69.205.40.149 19:52, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- The images are necessary determine if a vote is a support or oppose vote, as current policy allows voting in languages other than english. Whether such templates actually exist or are categorized correclty is another matter, but I remember seeing {{A favor}} ( Support).
- As for the nature of votes, we are not Wikipedia, and votes are quite necessary for both admin nomination and Featured Picture selection. I hope that answers your concerns. —UED77 20:11, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! That makes sense. 69.205.40.149 22:01, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I understand the necessity of images, but the current ones are not all that readable. could mean "I disagree with this item's existence," or it could mean "no, don't delete it." I've replaced it with . One place where X and check mark will work is in the support/oppose templates, since those are clearly yes/no; the +/- aren't as readable. Seahen 19:11, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- You've been reverted. Since these are readily noticed and used by multiple users, please discuss this sort of change before implemention. Cary "Bastique" Bass parler voir 19:30, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- Plus the big word Delete next to it is kind of a clue. Cary "Bastique" Bass parler voir 19:35, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- But these templates are supposed to be readable in multiple languages. Someone whose language isn't similar enough to English might have no idea what "Delete" means. Seahen 19:55, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I see, that some people put some like
by User, this is OK, i can put my username if i translated the content? i thinked this was autpomatic with the history —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hsilamot (talk • contribs) at 01:27, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- I put usernames next to translations for one language (Svenska/Swedish) I don't know, in which multiple translators posted different results. It is my hope that someone more familiar with that language will come along with something more definitive. In fact, I am taking this opportunity to invite all Administrators who speak Svenska/Swedish (see the "Svenska" section of Commons:List of administrators by language) to post something more definitive. — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 04:52, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I do think it is nice to get credit, but as I don't credit for anything else anyways, and no-one does, I don't think it should be here either. :-)

- Both translations are fine, but "Stödjer/Stödjer ej" (and "Neutral") are more in line with what is used at Swedish Wikipedia (not sure about other Swedish Wikimedia projects). I don't think in-text credits are needed for one- or two-word translations. —LX (talk, contribs) 11:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I received a message on my talk page to take part in the discussion. I support the current Swedish translation by Fred J. I'm not happy with the Swedish translation by AzaToth since "opponera" does not translate to the English word "oppose" but "to oppose". Thuresson 17:44, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I merely copied the Swedish translation so to make Swedish Wikipedians feel at home here. / Fred J 17:46, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

- They're fine. Those are the verbs used on sv:WP:SFFR to discuss proposed deletions. —LX (talk, contribs) 18:38, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion vote?
[edit]Think maybe we could add {{Vsd}} and {{Vsk}}, for maybe speedy deletions/keeps in COM:RFD discussions? Vipersnake151 20:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I could see where those would be useful, but technically we can't vote "speedy" anything, either it meets the criteria or not. If it does, we just have to wait for an admin to see the nom, voting speedy won't help. Feel free to make the templates, though. I'm sure they would be used. Rocket000 06:47, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Need help in merging templates
[edit]Have a look at Commons:Polling templates (or Category:Polling templates), this lists all the polling templates in each language. I have added AutoTranslate features to all of the templates listed here. So these separate templates are now useless. Could someone help merging the separate template into those?
Example on how to perform: Step 1, Step 2
Also, once done, for those templates that has many links to them, please redirect it to the merged template, and not delete. As non-English speaking users may only use those templates. Redirects cause no harm. Let me know if you need any help. Kind regards. Rehman 09:33, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
