The categorization help is a start, but this category is still heterogeneous. One reason, besides current use of the term Lifeboat for rescue boats in the UK and elsewhere, is the more widespread past use. I propose to split the category into Category:Ships' lifeboats and Category:Rescue lifeboats. the latter would include any rescue boat that was called a lifeboat (officially or by the image source if contemporaneous with the vessel or authoritative). Both would be subcategories of Category:Lifeboats; Category:Rescue lifeboats would be a subcategory of Category:Search and Rescue Boats as well. Italiano: Lancia di salvataggio o così più detta scialuppa di salvataggio, secondo me le scialuppe di salvataggio andrebbero fatte come una specie di gommone perchè quando la nave affonda con i loro tubolari gonfiabili e chiglia rigida ma soprattutto i tubolari gonfiabili possono rallentare l’affondamento della nave perchè se i comandanti non riescono a mettere tutte le scialuppe in acqua, le scialuppe ancora sulla nave possono rallentare l’affondamneto e guadagnare tempo e una nave vicina che viene contattata può raggiungere la nave in affondamento e i passeggeri che non sono riusciti a salire su una scialuppa possono stare più tempo sulla nave e poi quando la nave affonda del tutto i passeggeri in acqua possono rischiare meno l’ipotermia e avere varie possibilità di sopravvivenza e essere molto probabilmente salvati dalla nave contattata.
