  • @Jonny84: @JuTa: : That is a city called Legnica. It's a Polish city and it has a Polish name. We are already not under the German occupation --- so don't use the German name, please...

I'm not sure with the second aspect - the Duchy name... It's a little bit unfortunate translation - Duchy is a land of a Duke. We hadn't got any dukes in Poland. It was a land of a Legnica's prince... I don't know what name it would be in English, maybe that's the unfortunate Duchy. Wieralee (talk) 22:41, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Polish City? Wait.. this is not about the current city, it's about a former duchy, which existed till the 19th century. Maybe you see a difference between history and now? "German occupation"? "We hadn't got any dukes in Poland"? - OMG, take some history lessons, that is very embarrassing.. The Duchy of Liegnitz was part of the Holy Roman Empire, so what does Poland and its Princes got to do with that? So let me summarize: This Duchy was in the Holy Roman Empire and it hadn't a Polish name. And it was not under Polish rule.. --Jonny84 (talk) 23:43, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Jonny84: In Wikipedia there's an article Duchy of Legnica in Polish, not in German. We are talking about polish "Duchy" --- till 1402 it was a Polish land, then it was independent, after 1700 it was German. It was never a part of a Holy Roman Empire --- the city of Legnica was only confirmed in the Roman documents and maps, that's all. I know, that all names should be in English or in the language of origin, but why in German? Wieralee (talk) 07:36, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Holy Roman Empire in 1400
Because it's the name of origin, as the Duchy hadn't a polish name and wasn't part of Poland from the 14th to the 19th century (so it was not a "polish duchy" as you say..! for 5 centuries), in 1526 part of Habsburg and in 1742 it became part of Prussia. So why should it have a polish name? "It was never a part of a Holy Roman Empire" – Maybe you should take a look on the maps of the Holy Roman Empire or read your (own) link before writing this nonsense.. But you even thought that a Duchy is a ghost.. I guess you have no idea about the history of the Silesian duchies. --Jonny84 (talk) 16:28, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Jonny84: Sorry, it's because of my English. I'd been learnt history in Polish, so I've got some problems with the translated naming. I've meant "Roman Empire", not "Holy Roman Empire". My mistake.
But my mistake changes nothing in the main problem:
1) You should't change Polish names into German.
2) You shouldn't make changes opposite the official wiki naming (Duchy of Legnica).
3) For such a reason you shouldn't move the categories without {{move}} template. If you would like to move a category because of your personal naming preferences, you have to put a "move" template inside --- and wait at least 14 days for discussion.
4) Even if you illegally had moved the category, you shouldn't leave files inside the redirected categories.
I don't want to fight. This category isn't important enough to waste the time for long discussing.
Have a good time Wieralee (talk) 20:38, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
