As part of Phase 1 of Surrey County Council's Bus Review, route 472 was withdrawn. Surrey CC said the service received "very low usage". The section between Woking and New Haw/Parkside was replaced by route 459 (renumbered from route 471 and diverted to cover route 472). The link from New Haw to Brooklands Tesco/M&S by a regular service was lost, however restructured route 593 provides a limited shoppers service, with a return journey from New Haw to Brooklands Tesco/M&S incorporated into the timetable. Along with the partial withdrawal of route 437 and the complete withdrawal of route 451, route 593 (along with the the Peterbus 1 service), became the only service to run along Byfleet Road/Oyster Lane between New Haw/Parkside and Brooklands Tesco/M&S, resulting in a large decrease in service for this area. The section of route between Brooklands Tesco/M&S, Byfleet and around Manor Farm Estate was replaced by various routes as a result of other Bus Review changes. The changes came into effect on 28 August 2010, therefore route 472's last day was 27 August 2010.
