As part of Phase 1 of Surrey County Council's Bus Review, route 437 was curtailed at West Byfleet railway station on most journeys. Some school journeys continue to/from West Byfleet to Byfleet, Manor Farm Estate and Brooklands Tesco/M&S as per the previous service. The section of route from Brooklands Tesco/M&S to New Haw and Addlestone was withdrawn completely. The service was also diverted away from Old Woking Road, Maybury Inn and Maybury Hill, to instead run via Maybury Estate and College Road (to replace route 72 and enable that route to be withdrawn). Along with the withdrawal of route 71, Maybury Inn became no longer served by regular buses, the Peterbus 2 service becoming the only route in the area. Previous school journeys on route 71 to/from Byfleet were incorporated into the new 437 timetable (hence the school time extensions to/from Byfleet and Brooklands Tesco/M&S), and route 437 also extends to/from Elmbridge Lane Estate and Rydens Way Estate (for Woking College), on College days only. These school time journeys run via Maybury Road/Walton Road to/from Woking, not Oriental Road. Operation of the service transferred from Countryliner to Arriva Guildford & West Surrey with the new council contract. The changes came into effect on 28 August 2010.
