English: :«To Leningrad the Hero City» Obelisk is located in Vosstaniya Square in St. Petersburg . Installed in May 1985 and the fortieth anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War. The authors of the monument - architects V.S. Lukyanov and A.I. Alymov. Inauguration of the "Hero-City Obelisk" was held on the eve of Victory Day May 8, 1985. Thousands of messengers all over the city attended the ceremony. At the foot of the Obelisk stood honor guard that brought crowned orders flags of Leningrad and the Leningrad region, battle banners of the military units had distinguished themselves in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. Vosstaniya Square, Nevsky and Ligovskiy were decorated with flags and banners. By the solemn occasion produced Souvenirs «Hero-City Obelisk» — badges, special boxes, cards.
Русский: Обелиск «Городу-герою Ленинграду» расположен на площади Восстания в Санкт-Петербурге. Установлен в мае 1985 года к сороковой годовщине Победы в Великой Отечественной войне. Авторы монумента — архитекторы В. С. Лукьянов и А. И. Алымов. Торжественное открытие Обелиска «Городу-герою Ленинграду» проходило в канун Дня Победы 8 мая 1985 года. Тысячи посланцев всех районов города присутствовали на церемонии. У подножия Обелиска стоял почётный караул, доставивший увенчанные орденами знамёна Ленинграда и Ленинградской области, боевые стяги воинских частей, отличившихся в боях Великой Отечественной войны. Площадь Восстания, Невский и Лиговский проспекты были украшены флагами и транспарантами. К торжественному событию выпущены сувениры: значки, специальные флажки, открытки.
