The Sierra Nevada Forests Ecoregion is a designated ecoregion by WWF and One Earth. It is classified as a Temperate Conifer Forests Biome.It is one of six ecoregions in the Greater California Bioregion.

The Tehachapi Mountains form its southern boundary; the California Montane Chaparral and Woodlands Ecoregion occurs south of this boundary. The Plumas National Forest forms the northernmost extent of the ecoregion; this boundary is bordered on the north by Lassen Volcanic National Park, a constituent of the Central-Southern Cascades Forests Ecoregion. To the east of the Sierra Nevada Forests ecoregion, lie the Mojave Desert Ecoregion and the Great Basin Shrub Steppe Ecoregion. The California Interior Chaparral and Woodlands Ecoregion extends along the western boundary of the Sierra Nevada Forests Ecoregion for its entire extent.
