The dealership was established as Reber & Ruhe in January 1916 at 616-620 Maple street in Allentown. It sold makes such as Velie, Rickenbacker, Scripps-Booth and Oakland, the predecessor of the Pontiac. In 1926, it became a General Motors dealership, selling Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles, then in 1928 General Motors strongly suggested it choose between them. It focused on Oldsmobiles and for decades sold only that brand. In 2000 Rhue Oldsmobile was one of the last 63 Oldsmobile-only dealerships in the United States when General Motors discontinued the Oldsmobile Motor Division., The dealership serviced vehicles for the next few years but stopped selling cars.

In early 2009, the business was closed and sold to AutoZone. The building was remodeled with the former car sales area now the parts and accessories salesroom. The former dealership service department remains largely unused.
