English: Before Seattle began developing a container port in 1968, the Port of Seattle operated a grain terminal at the foot of Hanford Street, on the east side of the East Waterway of the Duwamish River. The facility was demolished as part of building the container port; a new Port of Seattle grain terminal was built north of Downtown at Pier 86.
