Opened in December 1944 as a nightclub and restaurant, replaced a record store and music school which had been in the location for about 25 years. Owned by Elsa Ostroff and her husband, Ostroff had owned several hotels in Allentown and had been an entertainer at the Lyric Theater for many years in the early 1900s. The nightclub was established quickly as a fire in the nearby Circlon Club at 6th & Hamilton had closed the facility for about 2 years and the Old Hickory Inn was a de-facto substitute.
The Ostroffs retired in 1960 and the property was sold. Elsa Ostroff passed in June 1964.
