EBY 528 is a former yellow Malta route bus, now in preservation in the UK after use in the 2012 Summer Olympics torch relay. It's believed to be a 1965 Bedford SB chassis with a locally built 1969 Michael Debono body. It first ran in Malta service with the registration 2458, then A-2458, Y-1229, Y-0528, before finally wearing EBY 528. After withdrawal from service it was one of two ex-Malta buses brought to the UK by Lloyds Banking Group for use as floats in the 2012 relay. It was driven/sailed to the UK on the Maltese export plate VIB 528, before taking part in the relay on the UK plate SKR 801G. For the relay it was extensively modified by South East Coachworks (see float category for full details). After the relay it entered preservation, being restored by South East Coachworks to Maltese livery and external condition (while retaining some of the internal modifications). It made its rally debut at the 2013 South East Bus Festival.
