Loch Finlaggan is an inland loch of Islay to the southwest of Port Askaig, accessible from Route A846. Eilean Mòr within it is the site of the capital of the Kingdom of the Isles, a mediaeval kingdom in the western isles, ruled by Gaels, who took it from the Scandinavians.
