Edwin Walker Houghton (1856-1927) was an English-born American architect who practiced on the west coast from 1885 to 1920. He first worked in Pasadena, California and after relocating to Seattle in 1889 entered a partnership with Charles Saunders, also previously of Pasadena. After their partnership was dissolved in 1892, Houghton would work alone and later with his son, designing many important commercial buildings in the northwest and would specialize in theater design.
