English: Cairo Citadel or Qalaʿat Salāḥ ad-Dīn — is a medieval Islamic fortification on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo, Egypt. The Citadel, an example of Ayyubid architecture (built 1176 to 1183 CE) and Mamluk architecture, is now a preserved historic site, with mosques and museums.
