Nederlands: Strandpalen in Nederland: eikenhouten palen van 25 cm in het vierkant en vier meter hoog. Ze staan langs het strand op 1 km van elkaar en zijn genummerd.
Rijkswaterstaat gebruikt ze om metingen te verrichten. Ze dienen ook als herkenningspunten voor hulpdiensten en recreanten.
