Battery-electric shunting locomotive B.E.L. 2, originally North Staffordshire Railway 1

Built quickly on a wagon chassis in 1914, to replace steam locos sent to France during WWI. It worked Bolton's copper works and sand sidings at Oakamoor on the Churnet Valley Line

One of two similar battery electrics that entered BR service as B.E.L. 1 (West India Docks, scrapped 1964) & B.E.L. 2
