Deutsch: Das Bankhaus Ahlmann wurde von dem Unternehmer, Verleger und Politiker Wilhelm Hans Ahlmann (* 1817; † 1910) 1852 im Kiel gegründet.

Das ehemalige Ahlmannbankgebäude (1927, auch „Ahlmannhaus“ genannt) am Rathausplatz 1-2 in Kiel-Vorstadt wurde auf Initiative von Karl Eltze, Schwiegersohn von Ludwig Ahlmann und Teilhaber des Bankhauses Ahlmann, gebaut nach Entwürfen von den Architekten H. Jaacks und Ludwig Stapf. Sie gewannen das Ideen-Wettbewerb „Neugestaltung des Kieler Zentrums um den Kleinen Kiel“ von dem Stadtbaurat Willy Hahn, der auch Einfluss auf die Gestaltung des Bankgebäudes von Ahlmann nahm. Die angebrachte Inschrift „1852 Wilh. Ahlmann 1927“ erinnert an den Gründer des Bankhauses und an das 75jähriges Firmenjubiläum im Jahr 1927.

Die Deutsche Bank trat 1957 in die offene Handelsgesellschaft Wilh. Ahlmann ein und 1967 wurde das Bankhaus in eine Filiale der Deutschen Bank umgewandelt. Bis 1974 blieb des Gründers, Dr. Wilhelm Ahlmann, in der Firmenbezeichnung bestehen, dann wurde ehemaligen Ahlmannbank umbenannt in „Deutsche Bank AG Filiale Kiel“.
English: The Ahlmann Bank was founded in Kiel in 1852 by the entrepreneur, publisher and politician Wilhelm Hans Ahlmann (* 1817; † 1910).

The former Ahlmann Bank building (1927, also called “Ahlmann House”) at Rathausplatz 1-2 in Kiel-Vorstadt was built on the initiative of Karl Eltze, son-in-law of Ludwig Ahlmann and partner of the Ahlmann Bank, according to designs by the architects H. Jaacks and Ludwig Stapf. They won the ideas competition “Redesign of the center of Kiel around the Kleiner Kiel” by the city planning officer Willy Hahn, who also influenced the design of the Ahlmann bank building. The inscription “1852 Wilh. Ahlmann 1927” commemorates the founder of the bank and the company’s 75th anniversary in 1927.

In 1957, Deutsche Bank joined the open trading company Wilh. Ahlmann and in 1967 the Ahlmann bank was converted into a branch of the Deutsche Bank. The founder, Dr. Wilhelm Ahlmann, remained in the company name until 1974, then the former Ahlmannbank was renamed in “Deutsche Bank AG branch in Kiel”.
