English: The LD8 class were a batch of 100 Leyland Titan PD2 double-decker buses with 56 seat Leyland Farington bodywork, purchased from Leyland by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company (BMMO) in 1952/3, to supplement their own in house supply of designed and manufactured buses. They were allocated fleet numbers 3978 4077 (reg. SHA 378 to SHA 477). The batch were the same as standard PD2's with the exception of a concealed radiator front assembly, later offered by Leyland as the PD2/20. This bespoke radiator front incorporated a space for the BMMO logo, making these look like BMMO manufactured buses.
