[edit]The species is illustrated by Walter Hood Fitch and described by William Jackson Hooker in "Curtis's Botanical Magazine" vol. 89 (Ser. 3 no. 19) (1863) (

From Hooker's description:
- " CALANTHE VEITCHII: hybrida.
- Mr. Veitch's Calanthe. Garden hybrid.
- A hybrid between CALANTHE VESTITA (Bot. Mag. t. 4671) and LIMATODES ROSEA (Bot. Mag. t. 5312). "
- Mr. Veitch's Calanthe. Garden hybrid.
(Limatodes rosea is a synonym of Calanthe rosea)
