Townsville[edit]

Hi Yann, please do not delete a user image that is correctly licensed. In addition I can personally confirm, that this is the user himself, and that it's not a copyvio. On the other hand, this image is used on several user pages on many projects in many languages and due to repeated trolling (re-upload of a completely other motive to annoy this admin on de.wikipedia) I've protected it now. Regards --:Bdk: 14:40, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In addition: May I ask, of which images exactly you are thinking about when warning this user in a very harsh way? --:Bdk: 14:46, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
This image was original another one. See [1]. Regards, Yann 14:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, it was not. This version was just uploaded today. Please check the history again. CheckUsage could also be helpful. Thanks --:Bdk: 14:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I deleted this image because it was tagged as a copyright violation. Then someone alse uploaded another image, and while restoring the old one, you removed the new one. Yann 15:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but this does not change the fact, that the first upload was ok, and no copyvio in fact. Note: I've already informed the uploader of the animal image see [2]. Please have a look at this version. That was the one that appeared on all the user pages and alarmed me (nearly 2 hours after the animal was uploaded and also appeared on the user pages). --:Bdk: 15:14, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First, the pictures is not licensed correctly. How can it be? It's a capture from the TV series. That's way User:Oxyam Hartog requested deletion of this picture. I'm really considering contacting now copyright holder FOX for this violation. So to avoid trouble it's best to delete this capture asap. --Gerry123 15:22, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This picture is from my driver's license, and was originally licensed under the GFDL by me at May 24, 2006 on :de and moved to commons at August 1, 2006. But I am interested to know which TV-Series I have played in. --Seewolf 15:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yann, as I asked above, could you please clarify which images you're talking about? You wrote on Seewolf's talk page "You have uploaded several images that are copyright violations and you have done so despite our requests not to do so, and despite our instructions. If you do not stop uploading pictures that are not free, your account will be blocked." – I can see not even one copyvio upload by him … so I wonder if you want to correct your comment there perhaps. --:Bdk: 15:47, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See Gerry123 comments. Reagrds, Yann 15:48, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Yann, I don't want to be annoying, but this is not an appropriate reaction.
There is a trusted and personally known user (German admin Seewolf) that has not done anything wrong. Then you've deleted his user image (I assume you follow the different steps in the history and the stupid trolling there by different accounts/IPs now) and then, you've warned him, Seewolf, without any reasonable point that he, Seewolf, could be blocked. So I ask you again to explain your warning to me, and tell which uploads by Seewolf should have been copyvios. --:Bdk: 15:58, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for fast reaction. --:Bdk: 16:06, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Repeated deletion[edit]

Ok about the deleted images, but i´m in contact with the developers of those images and i have their permission, so what i have to do to let me upload those photos properly?--Chanke 14:44, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A question..but i have to e-amil the permission for every photo of this article or once i have sent a single e-mail it's enough?--Chanke 14:48, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So when i have sent the e-mail i have to upload the photo in copyright with permission category?

Norah Jones world tour Paris 2003.jpg[edit]

I noticed that you have deleted this picture, stating copyvio. However, I am unable to find any reference to this in any discussion. Could you point me at the proof of this copyright violation that you used as a basis for the deletion? I ask because the picture has been in use in the Norah Jones article, which is now "decapitated".

TIA!

Achitnis 06:00, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wish you next time to be so kind as to not delete the images I uploaded without any notice or discussion. This is (partly) what the user talk pages are for. Cheers. Alexei Kouprianov 08:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me[edit]

Why did you deleted # Ilha da madeira.png Madeira-mapa.jpg ??????????

It's my work!!!! And i released to wikipedia!!!!

I know a BANNED user of the portuguese wikipédia called JLCA is doing this kind of thing since he is banned but there is no sence on doing elimination SINCE ITS MY WORK! luis@jazzmelody.net user Jazzmelody The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.240.245.82 (talk • contribs) at 22:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Yann, where is the copyright violation on my work as a derivative work from a Nasa public domain photo and using my Autocad and my photoshop? --Luis Miguel P. Freitas 01:07, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zoey 101 in spanish[edit]

Why did you delete the Zoey 101 Tv Show pic, I did that picture, who are you for delete my pic? --Tmasjeg 20:29, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yann, it's been established that I have the proper license to use these images and media, being that the maximum responsible for this content has sent an authorization to use them in whatever purpose. The same with Image:Pez Cabeza.jpg and Image:Pez Quemado.jpg, which also belong to Azione Artigianale (copyright owner) and have been deleted for no reason. I'd appreciate if these were undeleted. Thank you.

Images deleted[edit]

I´m afraid I didn´t understadn quite well the copyright restricctions about images, so I will start again only with the ones I really can use.

Thank U. Iñigo Vicente 04:59, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PD: Would you mind if I speak with User:Dodo? I´m spanish and don´t speak quite good English.

You deleted it beacause (privacy issue)? Have you near Information about this? --Fg68at de:Disk 12:50, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your vandalism[edit]

Image:SwietochlowiceDTS.jpg and Image:StadionSL.jpg is not copyvio!!! Permissions are on my e-mail. In page of image written source. PS. see - Commons:Deletion requests/Image:StadionSL.jpg, Commons:Deletion requests/Image:SwietochlowiceDTS.jpg. MaciekChorzów 14:51, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This was not vandalism, this was Yann acting properly within Yann's scope of authority. I suggest that you put information about GFDL on the pages where the source images are published on the Internet, forward a copy of the permission to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, which serves as the Wikimedia Foundation's Central archive for permissions, and then appeal to Commons:Undeletion requests. See also: Commons:Deletion guidelines, Commons:Licensing, Commons:Email templates, and Commons:OTRS.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 18:56, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flommons[edit]

Hi, Yann. I saw your addition of a link to your Flommons page to your User page here, and decided to try the same thing myself. However, I am having a problem with doing that, in that for two of my images, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4a/AABarnstar.png/240px-AABarnstar.png and http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1f/Purple_Star.png/240px-Purple_Star.png , I get broken image links instead of the images, and further research shows that the text behind the broken image links is "Bad title" and "The requested page title was invalid, empty, or an incorrectly linked inter-language or inter-wiki title. It may contain one or more characters which cannot be used in titles." Perhaps there are no 240px thumbnails because the source images are only 111px wide? If so, the tool should be fixed or the database should be populated with 240px thumbnails of smaller images for Flommons use. Any advice you could offer would be helpful. Thanks!   — Jeff G. Mail to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org its send. Stop your delete and wait 7 Days for OTRS, thx --Flubber 19:00, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RFCU[edit]

I have requested CheckUser access for you. Please accept :) -- Bryan (talk to me) 21:33, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have undeleted this. I did not see any notice that someone wanted to speedy it. I think it is useful. If you disagree, let's do a regular deletion discussion. ++Lar: t/c 05:05, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(refactored from my talk): Hello, Why this page need to have such a hugly title? Regards, Yann 13:28, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So that it stands out in the list of "what links here" so that people about to delete a file won't miss it. That's the whole reason it exists, just to prevent that, so that the mosaic (which is known about by the media, and so forth) doesn't have holes in it. Hope that helps and thanks for asking! ++Lar: t/c 14:33, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
