There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Deine Siegelfotos

Hallo, Wolfgang.

Please excuse my use of English - my Deutsch has grown rusty through the decades.

I like your photo of the Teotihuacan ballgame marker, and I am wondering whether you have a photo of the entire artifact. The Teotihuacan ballgame is unusual for a number of reasons, in particular because they did not use the typical stone ballcourts but rather (it seems) played on an open field using markers.

Although I guess that you would have uploaded any other photos, I thought I would ask.

Vielen Dank, Madman2001 (talk) 13:57, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

I am sorry to learn that there's no photo of the entire ballcourt marker. However, while I was looking through your photos, I did see a very nice photo of the reconstruction of the Citadel which I included in the w:Temple of the Feathered Serpent article.

Arsenal Wien

Foteviken Odin

The artwork in Image:Schonen-Wikinger Museum Foteviken 10.jpg looks like it is neither old nor permanently exhibited outdoors. Unless more information comes to light I think the photograph will have to be deleted as a derivative work. Haukurth (talk) 17:49, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

I think it would hinge on whether it's permanently attached to an outer wall or not (the Swedish law says utomhus). If it is, that should be stated and Template:FOP added. If not, I think it needs to be deleted. Haukurth (talk) 13:39, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Or we could ask the manager of that museum, Sven Rosborn, who is an active wikipedian. --LA2 (talk) 02:13, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Nürnberg - Reichsparteitagsgelände.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Nürnberg - Reichsparteitagsgelände.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Thank you for the hint at the wrong license. I changed the license into Anonymous-EU, because the author of this postcard is anonymous and the postcard was apparently printed before 1939 ( see date of stamp ). So this license should be sufficient to keep the image in wikimedia. ( I did this sort of license at all the postcards I did upload up till now in accordance with a lengthy discussion I had about the licenses for them ).Xenophon 22:37, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

You placed a speedy delete tag on this image. I would like to know why. If murals of Diego Rivera are copyrighted, the whole category "Murales by Diego Rivera in the National Palace" has to be deleted plus numerous images in the Category "Diego Rivera". Please answer that question before deletion. Xenophon 21:20, 19 May 2009 ( UTC )
I didn't check if there were other reproductions of Diego Rivera's murales, but it seems that there are many others that have to be deleted. The reason is simply that Diego Rivera died less than 70 years ago, so the reproductions of his works are still copyrighted. But to be completely sure, I've asked it on the french version of Commons:Help desk. El ComandanteHasta ∞ 12:12, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for your answer. Maybe one should take another aspect into consideration: Murales like that are quite often integral parts of public buildings. In fact the whole Category "Murals" consists of modern paintings at walls in public spaces. How far is a copy right of any artist valid in these cases? Is that a case of "freedom of panorama"? It seems to me that these problems need to be discussed - and solved - before any deletion. Regards Xenophon 17:30, 20 May 2009 ( UTC )
Like Sémhur recommended it to me on the Help desk, I've asked the deletion of all the files contained in the Category:Murales by Diego Rivera in the Palacio Nacional. You should expose your doubts there if you want to discuss about it. Regards. El ComandanteHasta ∞ 15:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
