I see that you intervened in the edit war over File:Asia (orthographic projection).svg, I now note that there has been a split and a separate version File:Asia orthographic Caucasus Urals bondary.svg created. They both happen to be copies of each other at the moment, and so the new version has been marked for deletion. If the problem is that different countries have different views on the subject, should two variations be retained instead? --Tony Wills (talk) 12:41, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

I think the edit war was a dispute brought to Commons from one of the sister projects. Some of the disputants have been indefinitely blocked on Commons. I don't know the merits or lack thereof of the version they prefer. I told them that they should not edit war over versions but should upload the disputed version under a new file name, preferably with sources. I think that view is consistent with your view. • I added the subscope, habitus, i.e, "the general appearance, growth form, or architecture of a plant". I think this image may be the best in main scope because it illustrates the scape, petiole and peduncles, as well as the flower. Also, it is an image of a wild individual growing in a protected area. Many of the other images are of cultivars or not documented. In the subscope, most of the other images are from above and do not depict the habit well, in my opinion. --Walter Siegmund (talk) 18:20, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Moving and editing of Atlases by User:23prootie

Most of these edits in question are from January 2011 and has been move atlases to native names for months User:23prootie has changed the Atlas of British Indian Ocean Territory Introduction and Name to reflect a Chagossian biased slant and moved said atlas to Atlas of the Chagos Archipelago,

Here are the other Atlases that have been changed to a biased slant:

Atlas of the Paracel Islands

Atlas of Muslim Mindanao

Atlas of the Spratly Islands

I don't know how to fix this without messing up said Atlases

I have yet to here any response from a Admin from this and don't know why, I'm just asking for help reverted these biased changes, nothing more.

Let me explain my edits; the "Atlas of Bangasamoro" is not biased, rather it is slanted more towards the historical cultural region not the current political region we have now. I am moving (rather reluctantly) the Atlases of the Kalayaan Islands and Hoang Sa back to their "original" names. I am NOT, however, going to changed anything in the Chagos Archipelago (maybe just change it to Chagos Islands which is shorter) which is under illegal colonial occupation. Hi 23prootie; As you know, we don't take sides in disputes. Instead, we try to report fairly what reliable sources say on the topic. Please avoid advocacy. I will intervene if I see edit warring or other violations of Commons policies or guidelines. Please be aware that we intervene more quickly and vigorously when there is evidence of a dispute moving from a sister project to Commons.

Regarding your file uploads, may I remind you of Commons:Avoid overwriting existing files, please? If you have any doubts about your change, you may be well-advised to upload your version under a new filename. Citing sources is always appreciated. --Walter Siegmund (talk) 17:51, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
