Message & thank You

Hi Walter Siegmund, thanks for your message re: using sister projects. I do that a lot for categorizations, and when creating a new category without wikimedia title precedent, using a wikipedia one if appropriate. Usually have so many w.media and w.pedia windows open/logged in it's humorously frustrating.
While you were posting on my talk page, so was I there to you - at bottom of the 'Interwiki links' section. Have three questions on bot-pages/categories, bot-template, and interwiki best practices. Thank you for calming the recent dust storm down for all, so my actual important mistakes, problems caused, and lessons-tools to learn-use could be seen. Best—Look2See1 (talk) 19:11, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

You are welcome. I saw your questions and will respond tomorrow when I can think more clearly. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 05:37, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Personal attack

Calling someone a hypocrite is not really a personal attack. It comments the way this user behaves. Only that. If you want to see what a personal attack is, I have far more serious attacks directed to me as better examples. Regards. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 17:50, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Please read the link that I provided. The English version says, "Comment on content, not on the contributor. Personal attacks do not help make a point; they only hurt the Wikipedia community and deter users from helping to create a good encyclopedia. Derogatory comments about another contributor may be removed by any editor. Repeated or egregious personal attacks may lead to blocks." Bad behavior by others does not justify such behavior on your part. Instead, please remove personal attacks and uncivil comments. You may bring repeated or egregious instances to COM:ANU. As an experienced user, please help set a positive example for others. Thank you and best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 22:12, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

FPC

Please admonish user Archeodontosaurus. Thank you. W.S. 13:48, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

A diff would be welcomed.
Perhaps it is just this instance, but I think the tone on FPC is better than the last time I looked.Walter Siegmund (talk) 16:14, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
How about [1] and [2]? W.S. 08:12, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

WBR

Hello Walter,
I just recompiled WikiBioReferences for java 1.5.
You can find it here.
Cheers Liné1 (talk) 19:40, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Bonjour Liné1; The new version runs on my system (OS X 10.5.8, Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_28-b04-382-9M3326) and seems to be very useful. Thank you for making this fine tool available. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 00:49, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

TwoWings

Hey Walter, your warning failed. --Yikrazuul (talk) 17:30, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

I see that Jcb removed the comments of TwoWings.[3] If you see others using an argument to avoid, you may wish to reference an item on the en:WP:ATA page. That may be more clear than your repeated comment, "No thematic response to the question, as usual." Repeating the same comment may be seen as harassment of Saibo or as contempt for the intelligence of other readers and is best used sparingly, if you wish to be heard. Walter Siegmund (talk) 02:06, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Keeps on harassing me. [4]. W.S. 13:54, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Please do not refer to others as meat puppets.[5] Allegations of abusive behavior, with evidence, may be brought to COM:ANU. Regarding "my role ..., is to prevent substandard or mediocre images to pass so that later you don't have to go through the delisting procedure". The Commons community has not assigned you that role. It may be a helpful role, but only to the extent that it does not engender ill-feeling and conflict. It may be helpful to avoid the perception that you are overly critical. Commons is not harmed by the delisting procedure. It is not something that must be prevented. Walter Siegmund (talk) 15:16, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for stepping in. I will refrain from calling others meat puppets without hard evidence. As being overly critical, I have the impression that criticism is not welcomed at FPC nearly enough to ensure a good quality of promoted images. IMO the if I scratch your back, you will reciprocate attitude is too prevalent at FPC (my impression) and thus I assigned myself that role. Ill-feeling is in the mind of the beholder and I do not strive for conflict, au contraire. W.S. 15:37, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
