Onzelievevrouwetoren

Ik heb er bij een eerste "inspectie" slechts 8 kunnen vinden, en die heb ik allemaal gefotografeerd. Staat nog op het "te doen" lijstje om ze te uploaden. Zelfde voor een 5-tal waterspuwers. Ik ben van plan binnenkort nog een keer naar de binnenstad te gaan om te kijken of ik die andere 4 ook kan spotten. Maar ze zitten nogal hoog, dus echt makkelijk fotograferen is het niet --Willemnabuurs (talk) 04:38, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi folks, Brbbl heeft al een hele lading consoles in Utrecht geplaatst van Bürgi. Ik stel voor dat we de consoles van Amersfoort zo ook indelen, dus Category:Corbels in Amersfoort. Ik zal er vast een doen om een begin te hebben en een koppeling naar Corbels in the Netherlands. Er zullen er vast meer zijn, maar dat wordt dan zoekwerk. Nog even niet. Hai Willem, dat zal aan mij liggen. Ik wist niet meer ui mijn hoofd of het er nou twaalf of acht waren. Acht dus. Sorry voor de verwarring en complimenten voor de foto's. Vanaf het terras van restaurant 'de drie vrienden' kun je ook goed de laatste waterspuwer zien, de Eenhoorn. Bedankt voor je reactie, groet, Satrughna (talk) 08:37, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Nee hoor, het zijn er wel degelijk 12. Als ik ga kijken in de beeldbank van het Archief Eemland dan zie ik er een paar die ik nu niet op de foto heb staan, bijv. bisschop David van Bourgondie. Ook de website van Ton Mooy heeft het over 12. Ik wil binnenkort nog een keer gaan kijken of ik die laatste 4 kan ontdekken. Maar misschien zitten ze wel zo hoog dat ze met het blote oog niet zichtbaar zijn. Misschien iets om bij Ton Mooy zelf na te vragen --Willemnabuurs (talk) 18:14, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

De laatste 4 zijn nu ook gefotografeerd; ze zaten op de hoeken, op dezelfde hoogte. Het was vanwege het regenweer helaas nogal donker en dat in combinatie met 48x digitale zoom heeft niet tot echt geweldige resultaten geleid. Weet jij waar die waterspuwers precies zitten. Ik heb er 3 gelocaliseerd aan de Langegracht, maar die zijn vanaf "de wal" niet goed zichtbaar, omdat er aan de andere kant van de gracht geen openbare weg is. Maar waar die laatste 2 dan zouden moeten zitten, inclusief de bronzen, is me nog niet duidelijk. Ik heb er nu 3 gespot aan de Kortegracht, 5 aan de Langegracht en 3 aan het Spui --Willemnabuurs (talk) 21:05, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Die spuwers die je niet weet zitten waarschijnlijk bij de instapplaats van de Waterlijn. De bronzen vis in ieder geval (vanwege bootschade is het hier brons). Mag vast wel als je het even vraagt. De bronzen vis staat op de foto. Die zal ik binnenkort uploaden. De overige ontbrekende waterspuwers heb ik niet fatsoenlijk kunnen fotograferen. Net toen we bij de Langegracht waren trok er een gigantische hoosbui over Amersfoort, die fotograferen compleet onmogelijk maakte. Misschien dat het nog gaat lukken om er 1 of 2 vanaf een terras te fotograferen, maar voor de anderen gaat dat zeker niet lukken. Ik denk niet dat het mogelijk wordt om die fatsoenlijk op de foto te zetten zonder het huren van een eigen bootje. Maar dat gaat mij in ieder geval voorlopig niet lukken. Dag Willem, ik zag een aantal nieuwe versies van consoles op de toren verschijnen, maar is het niet handiger om een verbeterde versie gewoon óver de oude up te loaden? Gewoon aanklikken 'een nieuwe versie van dit bestand uploaden' en klaar. Verder ben ik zelf eigenlijk niet zo dol op die datum in je bestandstitels; het maakt de titel erg lang en digitaal, en die datum staat eigenlijk ook al in de bestandsbeschrijving. Ik wist niet dat je nieuwe foto's over oude heen kunt uploaden. Dat was inderdaad handiger geweest. Want nu is het inderdaad lastig om die oude verwijderd te krijgen. Goede tip voor de volgende keer. Die bestandsnamen is gewoon het formaat wat ik voor mijn eigen fotocollectie gebruik. Datum, plaats en onderwerp. Vind ik zelf wel handig. --Willemnabuurs (talk) 06:23, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Naamgeving foto's

Reeksen cijfers zijn erg lastig voor iedereen die de foto ooit wil gebruiken. Je kunt er gewoon niet van uit gaan, dat je zelf de enige gebruiker bent of blijft. Laat desnoods de naam eindigen op cijfers, maar nooit beginnen. Te gecompliceerde namen met komma's, punten, cijfers, te lange locatienamen, etc. (ik weet het uit ervaring) leiden vaak tot foute overname en dan een hoop gepuzzel voor je dat weer hebt gecorrigeerd. Arnoud Beerends

Beste, Arnaud Beerends heet toch echt Arnoud (RKD 5841). Defaultsort is er nu juist om niet bij iedere categorie de naam te herhalen. Een link naar nl. is onzinnig en onjuist omdat er geen artikel is op nl.wikipedia en dus verwarrend. Je kunt wellicht beter eerst eens goed rondkijken bij anderen, voordat je op deze wijze doorgaat. OK, ik ben geen expert dus je zult wel gelijk hebben. Al vind ik het raar dat een database kennelijk meer betrouwbaar is dan de website van de kunstenaar zelf. Bij deze is het dus Arnoud Beerends--Willemnabuurs (talk) 11:37, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Je moet natuurlijk niets, dus je hoeft me ook niet te volgen. En de RKD heeft niet altijd gelijk! Maar Arnoud Volkert klinkt toch wel erg Nederlands, niet? En Arnaud is dat toch duidelijk niet (wel in het Frans). Volgend jaar herziet hij zijn naam weer naar Arnoud en als er dan inmiddels een artikel is op nl.wiki moeten wij dan maar weer mee? Attention please at the policies

HI, I appreciate the work you are doing to create categories for statue of saints (and I'm trying to make my contribution) but I think that it is not possible to make atoo much deeep categorization. File:Beata Vergine delle Grazie, statue of saint (Gavello).jpg I think is the only statue of Saint Peter of Verona in all the territory (municipality) of Gavello (a small town of 1 667 people...) and a category that contains only one picture is destined to be deleted. IMHO a category for cities in Italy must be the exceptions related to grandiose city of art where it is reasonable to understand that there are more statues for a single subject but would stay in the more general category "Statues of saints in the city" and not a statue of a particular saint in a city. If anything will be many (but I believe that the threshold is very high) you can also create it but not before. Sorry for my english, my poor vocabulary requires me to use online translators. :-)--Threecharlie (talk) 08:15, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry but I must reiterate what I wrote. Your job categorization is valuable but do not waste all while creating minicategorie that contain one photo because it's against the policy of Commons. Also create a category, for example, the bishops were in a town that has a few thousand inhabitants is useless, will not fill anything, it is likely that the only statue of a saint and a bishop to be charged and unlikely to serve the other pictures of the same subject. The continuation of these risks also block you if you have granted "title Autopatrol". Hi Andy, actually I have an issue; I see some inconsistent behaviour. Please compare Category:Photographs by Harry Pot at Madurodam (1964) with Category:Photographs by Daan Noske at Madurodam (1958). In the first case, the ANEFO template translates to Category:1964 in Amsterdam and in the second case it translates to Category:1958 at Madurodam. I don't understand why there is "in" in the first case and "at" in the second case. What am I doing wrong? Willemnabuurs (talk) 16:59, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

• The template doesn't control those category names, it just has to try and use what's already available. There are a lot of these categories using the template, and the "year" categories aren't consistent - nor should they be, there are valida grammatical reasons to vary them. The template has a preference list for which one it tries first (or will suggest as a redlink if none exist), but it will use the first it finds. So if 1964 in Madurodam is there, it uses that. But if 1958 at Madurodam is there, it'll use that format instead. It would use Madurodam in 1958 if it found that instead.

For Madurodam, I see this as a single atomic destination, like Dam Square or Zandvoort Beach, so "at" is preferred. For a town or region which is more than a single destination, then the default of "in" works better.

There's another issue with Madurodam in that I'm not sure if the next and most appropriate regional name "upwards" is either Scheveningen or The Hague. You might know that better than I do. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:37, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
