Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Thanks for contacting the author and verifying the information (it's a good change to what we normally have of people uploading professional photos as their own). However, I don't think opening and then immediately closing a regular deletion is the best way to solve this. Ideally we'd want the author to be verified through VRTS to reduce further confusion and to verify the claims officially. FozzieHey (talk) 23:29, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

It'd certainly be beneficial to get him confirmed through VRTS. I don't think the file needs to stay deletion nominated, however. Ved havet (talk) 23:38, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

I agree, I'm not 100% familiar with Commons but would assume some other notice would appear pending VRTS approval? Anyway I've opened a discussion on the noticeboard to see if anyone can point us in the right direction. FozzieHey (talk) 23:43, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

I'm not too familiar with VRTS myself, it is my understanding that it is required when a user that isn't the copyright holder gets permission from the copyright holder, but in this case the photographer uploaded it himself. Great that you posted it on the noticeboard however, I'm sure they can! Ved havet (talk) 23:49, 25 March 2022 (UTC)
