Unsourced election results[edit]

I appreciate you adding results for election maps, it makes the pages much better! However, some appear to be unsourced, such as Alaska_Democratic_presidential_primary_election_results_by_state_house_district,_2020.svg and Kansas_Democratic_presidential_primary_election_results_by_county,_2020.svg. I don't want to get into an edit war here, but we shouldn't include maps without sources (not taking action until you reply or in a few days though, so we can hopefully agree on this). Help with Wyoming maps[edit]

Send me an email at ylquevedo71@gmail.com with a screenshot of the white lines you mentioned so that I can show you what to do. You can also send me the file so that I can fix it and explain how I did it, if you prefer. --MisterElection2001 (talk) 03:18, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I sent you an email with one of the Wyoming maps and I also sent you one of my New Mexico map projects because there's a white dot on one of the blue counties. TylerKutschbach

Why are you removing every category from these images? You are fine with your maps but the other maps, you are removing the categories to hide them it seems. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 01:30, 4 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To follow up, removing categories without even an explanation is considered vandalism. I see that you uploaded a new image at File:Florida Presidential Election Results 1904.svg. It looks like you removed some of the old county lines to better reflect the actual counties that existed in 1904. A better description than "fix county lines" would be helpful and further, if the image is now yours, then the license should be yours and not U-dble. I'm manually reviewing and fixing those removals which is quite annoying to do. You don't have to help but if you create more work for others, you may find yourself blocked here as well. It's not that difficult to list images that are completely wrong when there is a better version you created but you have to explain what you are doing but removing categories and just loading newer images without explanation is suspicious and just plain frustrating to work with. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 19:55, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've been removing the categories of those presidential maps that aren't svgs because I've been making svgs of those that aren't svgs. TylerKutschbach (talk)
Those categories have nothing to do with whether they are SVGs or not. It doesn't make sense to remove them for that reason. And even then you aren't doing that here. It doesn't even make sense since File:Pennsylvania Presidential Election Results 1964.svg is still here. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 09:15, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@A.Savin: Please review this editor's actions in relation to them disruptively undoing edits I made to Arizona map images to correctly rotate them to match the actual longitude and longitude (and doing so without any discussion nor indication they understand how the state is actually shaped and how it is represented on maps, even though I made this point directly in my reuploads). I think a block may be warranted at this time as from a quick review I can see the other maps they're adding to the site have the same issue (being represented how they might look if viewed on a globe of the earth from the center of the US, and not representative of their actual longitude and latitudes [how they look from the center of the states themselves]), so unless they discontinue doing so they are creating more work than they're helping at this time. Correct colors[edit]

Please do not change the color scheme for any more gubernatorial or Senate maps. The .svg maps of United States elections use different color schemes for gubernatorial and presidential elections. Don't ask me why; I also attempted to upload gubernatorial maps using the presidential colors when I first started making maps. But this color scheme is consistent throughout Wikipedia and should be preserved, especially since you are overwriting others' files. -A-M-B-1996- (talk) 22:56, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
