Question about File:Gastón Salvatore, Venedig 2010.jpg[edit]

About this image

Hello Tks4Fish,

just a short question. Some days ago, you handled the OTRS processing of some photographs by Oliver Mark (e.g., of File:Oliver Mark - George Tabori, Berlin 2003.jpg). Only for one file, File:Gastón Salvatore, Venedig 2010.jpg you did not complete the OTRS processing and the description page for that image still contains the {{OTRS received}} template. Now I just wanted to ask: Are there any problems about this particular file, I mean, was the message not sufficient etc.? Or is the OTRS just not completed for that file?

(I just ask because I wanted to handle a rename request for that image, but had to deny the request as long as the legal state of the image is not clear. So I want to inform the original uploader if there are really any legal problems, so that he can contact the OTRS again to solve these problems.)

Thank you for your help! Best, --Aristeas (talk) 08:35, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Aristeas!
I'm very sorry. This image was cleared via OTRS, but I must've missed it when I was changing from OTRS received to OTRS permission. There is no problem at all, I just missed it. I've fixed the template, thanks for letting me know.
Sorry again for any trouble, and thanks again. Best regards, —Tks4Fish! talkcontribs 13:42, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Tks4Fish,
no problem! I did not want to criticize you! I just wanted to clarify the situation of that image file.
Thank you very much for your fast response and for fixing the template. All the best!
Yours, --Aristeas (talk) 13:47, 23 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2018 is open![edit]

Dear Tks4Fish,

You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in R1 of the 2018 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2018) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.

In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.

Round 2 will end 17 March 2019, 23:59:59.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 18:05, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

TNT translations[edit]

Thanks for all the TNT translations! I had to roll back the Data:I18n/Module:TNT/testcases.tab -- that one is only for testing the system, it shouldn't be translated. I added a warning. If you know wikitext/lua modules, would be awesome to collaborate on the new system! --Yurik (talk) 01:18, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, @Yurik: ! I'm happy to help :). Sorry for translating it, didn't knew I wasn't supposed to, just went translating all pages under the prefix :P. I know wikitext, but lua I don't know, so don't know if I could help much. If it's possible, let me know and I'll sure help :D. Best regards, —Tks4Fish! talkcontribs 01:23, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wiki text would be awesome too :) I'm not sure if you have seen the mw:WP:TNT yet -- that's what I'm trying to do, and would be great if ptwiki community could participate. The idea is to create a library of commonly used templates & modules that smaller wikis can easily reuse by just translating a few strings. --Yurik (talk) 01:27, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Important message for file movers[edit]

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Questions regarding this right should be directed to administrators. --Majora (talk) 21:36, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2 year block[edit]

Good afternoon! I was wondering if you would be able to remove the 2-year block you've put me for editing pages here. I was indeed using a VPN to generally be more anonymous on the internet and not to exploit this on some of the Wikis. Till I was blocked I wasn't aware, that it wasn't allowed, but now I've read the rules for this and I understand the reasoning behind it. I'm a fairly new user and didn't know about this rule.

Thank you in advance! Michail Angelos Georgoulas (talk) 18:07, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Hi. I've just been blocked for the second time in a couple of weeks. There seems to be a problem with the IP, which is at the moment 13.55.238.214. Block ID a week or so back was ID #332909. HELP. Sardaka (talk) 10:23, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Were you helped? Zahirdaud24 (talk) 19:07, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have been blocked from using Wikipedia commons. Please take the blockage.[edit]

I didn't do anything wrong on Wikipedia I don't know why I have been blocked. Please let me use Wikipedia commons so I can complete an article. Thank you sir. Zahirdaud24 (talk) 19:05, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
