Photo of Kelsey Grammer as Valued Image candidate[edit]
I want to nominate either File:Kelsey-Grammer-May-5-2010.jpg or File:Kelsey Grammer May 2010 (cropped).jpg as a valued image. I've been working on descriptions, and I added the "location" template. I searched the photos at Getty Images, and I believe the photos confirmed this (though I couldn't add a link yet). I hope the update I did was accurate, right? --George Ho (talk) 19:22, 17 February 2017 (UTC)
You're welcome. Here's one question: which version of your image shall I nominate as "Valued image", the cropped version or the original? And another: would you expand the description of the image in both file pages. Thank you. --George Ho (talk) 23:07, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
- I guess the full-sized version. That gives other editors more flexibility.
- I'll take a look at the description and see how I can expand it.
- While I'm here, I've asked at New York Daily News that we not make contentious changes to the lead while an RfC about the name of the paper is going on. I know you did it with good will, and it was just a matter of pointing out that we'll all editors of good will respecting the RfC process. Many thanks on that, George. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:23, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Regarding the camera's focus, since its autofocus function is broken, can you switch to manual focus? I love your photos. I wish you could create more photos. Shame that your such potential would go to waste. --George Ho (talk) 00:24, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- That is very kind of you to say. Thank you. I do use the manual focus on occasion, but I think because I'm nearsighted, and wearing glasses with what they call "progressive" (i.e. trifocal) lenses, I can never seem to get focus as sharp as the camera did. But I do miss using it, so maybe this bit of encouragement is just the kick in the pants I need! : ) --Tenebrae (talk) 04:27, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- With pleasure. ; ) --George Ho (talk) 04:49, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
