Trig functions[edit]

You might want to take a look at File talk:Trigonometric functions.svg SpinningSpark 07:21, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your adding of a "speedy" tag to that image was unconstructive, considering that many of the images at http://bisexuales.foroactivo.com/Public-h4.htm are themselves of extremely dubious status (such as the Simpsons screencap). Please nominate for ordinary deletion process, if you feel you must. AnonMoos (talk) 13:41, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please finish the CFD for this category with the following comment? "I don't see a clear need to have to build a shrine to prolific vandals such as this one." Thanks. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 19:50, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LOGO VIU[edit]

Can you please help me upload this file with the right licence? It's the logo of the Venice International University and they gave me written permission to publish it on Wikipedia. I sent an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, but the problem remains. Can you help me? Each University has its logo on the Wikipedia page, so there must be a solution.

Write me soon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scasalini (talk • contribs)

Thanks for uploading File:Michael_(Friend's_Wedding_2005).JPG. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

No permission[edit]

What made you think that the photos COMPADMIN uploaded needed a permission? Is there something to believe that these are not his photos? They were all taken with the same camera model. What am I missing? Lupo 15:13, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please add a bit of reasoning to no-permission-tags if it is not obvious why (author==uploader, nothing special about the pic). I just wasted half an hour on your tags and actually had removed them from a few pics as I could not figure out the reason even after some research. Only with one of the last I had finally a success at google and then also found the rest of them. A few words next to the no-permission-tag or a note at the source to show the real one would have helped and would have saved me a lot of time in which I could have dealt with other images of our huge backlog. I'm obviously not the first admin having problems with your tagging. -- Cecil (talk) 12:17, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

According to your notice on my talk-page you are now much more careful when tagging. Not funny. Where there more from that source that you tagged despite their free licence and that because of that were deleted? -- Cecil (talk) 20:25, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Around that time I'd received word off-wiki from another concerned person that the images uploaded by Hiraanitiger might have been subjected to copyright, and pointed out to me that the note at the bottom of each of the sources listed contained "© 2011 Nagi OÜ". The rest of the tagged ones were only a handful and listed here in the upload log. I hope you'll forgive any misunderstandings between us. I'm about to head away from Commons for some time, and cease tagging any more images. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 01:57, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File[edit]

I doubted when I saw the photo uploaded. Anyway, this is an art work and I think it should be validate if he approves upload this picture here with this tag. I'll try to find specific permission. Thank you. --Emporio2012 (talk) 22:59, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please explain...[edit]

Could you please explain why you are nominating items for deletion, without giving me a courtesy heads-up? Geo Swan (talk) 00:14, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, that was probablya bit of negligence on my part. As I was making my way to mass-add the appropriate deletion tags on each of the several pages that I had nominated, I must have forgotten to notify you about the discussion page. But since you are now aware of the situation, I guess notifying you would be moot now... :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 04:29, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Pay attention to copyright
File:2011 Middle East revolutions - Libyans protesting on tank.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Only the Voice of America photos created by Voice of America staff photographers are public domain. All the AP/REUTERS/AFP etc. photos are absolutely unfree. See Template:PD-USGov-VOA. For this file the "AP" was written in the filename, was written in the file EXIF and was most likely written at the source - that you not gave us, only a deeplink to the image, see Template:Bsr. --Martin H. (talk) 17:20, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TeleComNasSprVen,

why do you think this file is missing permission? Is there any indication that it is actually not the uploader's own work? Regards --Rosenzweig δ 22:59, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I must have mixed up Nils Ygge and Elizabeth Ygge. Sisters, maybe? Anyways, if the uploader and the subject/photographer are different, who is responsible for the copyright on the image? :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 07:56, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but that's no answer to my question. I repeat: Do you think that the uploader of this image, User:Ygge, is, contrary to his claims, actually not the author of this image? And if you do, then why? Regards --Rosenzweig δ 17:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's unclear in the description as to whether the copyright holder is Nils Ygge or Elizabeth Ygge, so I deferred to the Precautionary principle. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 23:03, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you do this?--Trixt (talk) 07:40, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's a good idea; with it, in the template page it's shown your username (for the en version; for the others langueges versions, the last page contributor), confusing other reusers. Further, you can't say at 100% that the last revisioner is the bot operator (for examples, if User:SieBot or User:BryanBot operators want to put {{Bot}} on their bot pages now, they should compile first parameter in any case. Do you think that it could be useful for newbies? I don't believe that a newbie with a bot account needs help to compile a basic template with one mandatory parameter...--Trixt (talk) 07:31, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot. I wanted to transfer the picture myself and completely forgot. Jastrow (Λέγετε) 15:29, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
