Pay attention to copyright
File:BettaLemme.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

File:JESC 2019 logo.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

ESC 2020 Map[edit]

Hi!
I just noticed that the versions of the image that you upload are of increased size and I have to correct it every time. Why is that? Which software are you using to edit the image?
Thanks Dimsar01 (talk) 13:51, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I use Inkscape because any other software I tried to use does not save the file in .svg, or does not mark the elements on the map correctly, sorry for problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Szyign (talk • contribs) 14:36, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Szyign: That's the correct program, indeed. Why it increases the file size though? For example, today I downloaded the version prior to the two you uploaded (in which you added B&H and Israel), colored them again and the file size remained unchanged (421 KB), while yours increased by 6 KB. How do you change the color of a country (just trying to figure out what causes the increase)? Dimsar01 (talk) 17:55, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dimsar01: I just download the latest version of the file, fill in the country at a rough approximation, export the file and upload it. I have no idea why something is not going as it should... Szyign (talk) 00:06, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
By using the "fill" function, you are creating a new shape in the image, which is why the file size is increasing. The correct way to change the colour of the country is by selecting it, clicking on the "dropper" function (should be second-to-bottom on the list of functions on the left) and then clicking on the colour you want from the key below the map.
This is a very common mistake in users new to editing svg files, so don't worry about it. GazThomas402 (talk) 13:39, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, Thank you very much for your help and understanding. Szyign 19:01, 14 July, 2019 (UTC)
@Szyign: Okay so the problem has been fixed (according to your latest uploads) :) Dimsar01 (talk) 15:26, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Junior Eurovision Gliwice-Silesia 2019 Logo.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Junior Eurovision Gliwice-Silesia 2019 Logo.png]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Hello! I want to edit the File:JESC 2021 Map.svg. Belgium confirmed it's non-participation at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 yesterday, and I want to paint Belgium yellow in the file. Only I don't know how to do it. Please, tell me how to do it. – AslanMus2008 (talk) 10:01, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@AslanMus2008: Hi! First of all, Belgium is not coloured yellow, because still the other Belgian broadcaster - RTBF, which is an active EBU member can take part. Although we know that they will 99% not be interested in participating Wikipedia rules don't allow us to edit something without a source, so you have to wait until RTBF confirms that it is not planning to participate. I use Inkscape to colour the map, but I know some users use others apps too. After opening the .svg file in the program you simply left click on the country and click on the colour you want to colour the country with, then save and that's it :) Szyign 17:08, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I noticed on the map Lichtenstein and Slovakia are still coloured grey but on the main page of Eurovision 2023 it states both of those countries have confirmed they're not joining Jasonericf (talk) 14:35, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for informing me. Liechtenstein is gray because it never participated, I changed the color of Slovakia and removed the color from Bulgaria because now they claim that there is no information yet. Szyign (talk) 16:52, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't realise that oops. But thanks for changing the other! 86.25.2.251 17:32, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bulgaria[edit]

Sorry to bother you again, Szyign. Just noticed that when you added Italy to File:ESC 2024 Map.svg you also restored Bulgaria as non-participating when BNT has ultimately announced it is still too early to know for certain whether or not they are taking part next year.

Thanks again! IvanScrooge98 (talk) 19:08, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

my bad, sorry! Szyign (talk) 19:15, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Poland at ESC 2024[edit]

I hope this is the last time I have to disturb you. A few days ago, it turned out that the statement from which we assumed TVP had confirmed its participation had no official nature and was merely a TV host’s wishful thinking. Could you take care of that for the map? :) IvanScrooge98 (talk) 20:29, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
