Rugby player categories[edit]

Hi ! Thanks for your work on categories of rugby union pictures :) Léna (talk) 07:39, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

no probs...you have some more NEW pictures for me to tag? :D ..Just trying to get them tagged and added to their Wikipedia pages :) --Stemoc (talk) 07:44, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Categories[edit]

Hy, I don't think it's good to copy images like this to the category Nina Dobrev. Even if she's with her half face on that picture, it couldn't be used to illustrate an article of her and because there are way better pictures of her I don't think it's useful to category it that way.--CennoxX (talk) 10:55, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but categories are like 'tags' and even though the pic of her is quite poor, she does appear in it...I ignored another one where you only see her hand but tagged this one because you can see half her face, not to mention her name in the front...--Stemoc (talk) 12:09, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. INeverCry 22:16, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, feels good to be acknowledged :) ..--Stemoc (talk) 22:21, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

some things with categories[edit]

Hi, if you crop images, like File:Intelligence - Panel (9319802338) (cropped).jpg, so please check, if the categories are right. In this case you left Category:Josh Holloway in the file. When you make new categories for TV series, you can add the fitting category from Category:Television networks/stations in the United States. A new TV series category can also be added to cast members and heavily in the series involved people (like the sowrunner). Also you can add the interwikilinks to the site, the category is referring.

Greets, --CennoxX (talk) 11:54, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

yes, before you can just copy the interwiki from their article and post it here but now there have a separate wiki that deals with interwiki (wikidata), do you know an easier way to copy those data? its quite hard to write some of them down that are in the Chinese/arabic languages.--Stemoc (talk) 00:40, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On the tool copypaste you add a Wikidata number and get the interwikis. I've written two bookmarks for that: The link target of the first bookmark has to be
javascript:location='//www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:ItemByTitle/'+wgPageContentLanguage.replace(/\-/g,"_")+'wiki/'+wgPageName
the one of the second
javascript:location='https://toolserver.org/~legoktm/cgi-bin/wikidata/copypaste.py?id='+wgPageName
If you're now on a Wikipedia article and click on the first bookmark it will get you to the Wikidata page. With a click on the second bookmark it will get you to the interwikis.
Another thing to Comic-Con categories: please check, if a file really belongs to a category. Some actors are on more panels, than just one. You added some Anna Torv pictures to the fringe panel, but that were images from the Entertainment Weekly panel, and on the family guy panel category you added many wrong images, some from the Oz the Great and Powerful panel and some from the cleveland show panel. In the most times, it's a good way, to check, when the pictures were taken. If the pictures were taken over several days, like in this case, it's unlikely, that the pictures are from the same panel.--CennoxX (talk) 00:36, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, i would use the copypaste idea for Interwikis....yes, I had to ignore a few because i wasn't sure which panel they were from such as Family Guy/American Dad are created and voice acted by the same people and both were present...regarding Anna Torv, the uploader did not specify what she was attending in the description, i checked. btw, Seth McFarlane, Mila Kunis and Mike Henry are all voice actors on Family Guy so not sure why you are removing their categories...--Stemoc (talk) 01:03, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The info, on which panel they were stands in the tags. On the pictures of Anna Torv there only stands "entertainment weekly", but if you do some research on that you can easily find out that it was an extra panel from enterntainment weekly named "Entertainment Weekly's Powerful Women In Pop Culture" with some other main actresses. And like said, the pictures which I moved in the category above were not taken on the family guy panel (according to the tags and according to the date, the pictures were taken), so the category was not correct.--CennoxX (talk) 01:57, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
File:Amma Asante 2013 TIFF.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

England rugby team category[edit]

Hi, I was just wondering why you removed Matt Kvesic (cropped).jpg and Marland Yarde 2013 (cropped).jpg from the category Players of the England national rugby union team? Was there a reason I should not have added them to that category?

Cheers T 88 R (talk) 10:06, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it kinda becomes "overkill", for example Marland Yarde's category already has "Players of the England national rugby union team " category, so you are pretty much adding the picture in 2 places. Some England rugby union players already have their own categories so by adding "Players of the England national rugby union team" to their picture, you are adding them twice to the same category..BUT if there is a picture of 2 players, both England internationals and only one has a category, then you can add "Category:Players of the England national rugby union team" to that picture, along with the category of the other player in the picture who already has his own category. If you come across any player who has more than one picture, you can create a category for them. Matt and Marlande already have their own category and they are the only 2 people in those pictures so no need to add "Players of the England national rugby union team" category in there.....I hope you understand.. :) ..--Stemoc (talk) 12:03, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah that makes sense. I'm not sure why I added both categories in the first place, I think I was just copying someone else as I didn't really know what I was doing to start with. I've actually been creating categories for each player that I have uploaded a picture of so that if I find another picture of them in the future they can all be easily collated. I will go back now and remove the duplicate categories from the other images I have added. Cheers T 88 R (talk) 16:10, 2 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
