Inkscape

Do you know you can use the Clean Up Document command in File menu in Inkscape? It is undesired to have simple svg flags with 200KB+ size. Like File:Flag of Hirara, Okinawa.svg and File:Flag of Hirara, Okinawa.svg. Mike Rohsopht (talk) 06:10, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

Curious as to how they got 200kb out of less than 50anchor points.
I've also revectorized File:Flag of Hirara, Okinawa.svg. Still perhaps not the greatest though.

@Flagvisioner: My guess in SpinnerLaserz made File:Flag of Hitachinaka, Ibaraki.svg from DiKnK8713's File:Emblem of Hitachinaka, Ibaraki.svg (14 Sep version). Neither of them clean up unused definitions before saving Those code remained in other 3 svg files. Actually I extracted the emblem of Tomigusuku from a pdf. Flag of Kazakhstan (1992)

Hello, if you looked carefully, you would notice that the ornament on the left side of the flag has a different shape than the final version. This is the reason why I uploaded a separate file. File:Flag of Kazakhstan (1992).svg is a serious misconception, since this form of ornamentation was established after the flag was repainted yellow. Kazman322 (talk) 16:58, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

Yes, exclude colors from coat of arms. So please clean the categories now. And don't categorize a flag that's not of Germany as "of Germany". If you are not sure what you do, please talk to me on my user talk page. I'd like to help. Renaming files

Hello, can you please not request renames of municipal flags I'm uploading? The reason why I'm naming vertical flags simply "Flagge" is because they're the norm in Baden-Württemberg and there are vertical flags used that aren't banners. Furthermore, criterion 4 of the renaming policy is not there to rename files just because they're in the same category, but rather for files where it is technically necessary, such as complex templates or files that form parts of a whole. Hello, I am using mainstream German terms for flag designs. I had request renames for a very good reason. This is to avoid confusion. You had to know that horizontal flags are also used in Baden-Würrttemberg. There are cases in that state where vertical flags are banners. Please understand this. Calling all vertical flags banners isn't correct though, since there are also municipalities hoisting them on a vertical flagpole with rope, cable etc. instead of firmly attaching them to a pole at the top. This is especially the case in Baden-Württemberg. Look at the distinction on Wikipedia (Flagge – Wikipedia) or on the website of the German Society for Vexillology (Flaggentypen (flaggenkunde.de)). Since horizontal flags are rarely used it would be better to give those a different file name, like "Querflagge" or "Hissflagge". - Kerl am Cembalo (talk) 22:37, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Copyright or not?

Are Dutch village flags copyrighted? Or should I use Template:PD-NL-gemeentevlag? 

In tegenstelling tot gemeentevlaggen worden dorpsvlaggen niet door de Hoge Raad van Adel in het vlaggenregister geregistreerd. Dorpsvlaggen worden net als dorpswapens alleen maar uit traditie gebruikt. Toekenning gebeurt (meestal) door de gemeente, die daar in een raadsvergadering over beslist. In Nederland heeft de provincie Friesland de hoogste concentratie aan dorpswapens en -vlaggen, in 2010 stonden daar 226 wapens en 220 vlaggen geregistreerd.[1]

Dutch village flags are not registered by Hoge Raad van Adel. So it may be copyrighted, Ive just read this article, nl:Dorpsvlag#Nederland.

and also, Should I upload Rotterdam deelgemeente flags with logos using the PD-NL-gemeentevlag Template?

Licenses of Argentine symbols

Please, don't restore/add the {{Argentina-Gov-Symbol}} to Argentine coats of arms (as you did here) so this is not a valid license tag but a temporarily template specifically created after this discussion. In that debate it was decided that the {{PD-AR-Gov}} template (which I had created time ago) was not valid anymore for Argentine symbols.

After reaching a consensus, it was determined that all symbols under former PD-AR-Gov tag would be reviewed to define if they are suitable (or not) for commons, with licenses such as {{PD-old-70-expired}}/{{PD-AR-Anonymous}}/{{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} (according to each case in particular) replacing the Argentina-Gov-Symbol warning.

In case a symbol has a doubtful or unclear status, {{No permission since}} will be used to require a permission from the author. Fma12 (talk) 22:38, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
