Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.

Добрый день. В проекте есть определенные правила категоризации. Пожалуйста, соблюдайте их.

  • Создавая новую категорию, не называйте ее латиницей и кириллицей сразу. Например, вариант Category:Sorochka. Сорочка - неправильный. Он удален.--Shakko (talk) 20:30, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Пожалуйста, помните, что украинские слова могут совпадать со словами других языков. Предыдущая категория переименована только латинцей. Однако вариант Category:Sorochka также будет неправильным, поскольку вы занимаетесь категоризацией только украинской одежды, а при таком названии туда будет попадать и русская. Поэтому правильно назвать категорию Category:Sorochka (Ukraine), возможно, в будущем будут созданы Category:Sorochka (Russia) и Category:Sorochka (Belorus), и все они будут входить как подкатегория в одну главную Category:Sorochka. Та же ситуация со свитой. При этом "кептарь", насколько я понимаю, исключительно украинский термин?       • Доброе утро. Смотрите, поскольку слово "сорочка" используется сразу в нескольких славянских языках, использование категории Sorochka только для украинских сорочек, будет запутывать, как ниже случилось с намиткой=wimples. Поэтому для украинских мы сделали подкатегорию Sorochka (Ukraine). Аналогично как с венками: из общей категории category:Wreaths выделены Category:Ukrainian wreaths. Так более понятно?   • Категорию про кунтуш вы назвали Kuntushs‎. Мне кажется, тут проблем с пересечением быть не должно, так как по-польски он Kontusz. Однако хорошо бы разделить украинские и белорусские кунтуши.
  • Пожалуйста, не множьте категории. Например, картина Тропинина "Подолянка" находится в категории "Clothing of Podolyans". Поэтому не нужно добавлять к этому файлу еще одну категорию "Podolyans", так как категория с одеждой уже автоматически входит в нее целиком как подкатегория.
  • Будьте внимательны к древу категорий. Например, есть Category:National costume of Ukraine in art. В ней оставлены жанровые картины типа такой File:1888 Platonov Oxana anagoria.JPG. И в отдельную категорию вынесены изображения, которые являются портретами (фокус внимания на лица)--Shakko (talk) 20:30, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Пожалуйста, не надо класть эти портреты в более общие надкатегории типа National costume of Ukraine in art

Загрузка картинок[edit]

Старайтесь не использовать кириллицу. Это затрудняет пользование файлами для иностранцев с остальной планеты, т.к. кириллический знак в адресной строке раскладывается на символы. Также важно добавлять максимум нужной информации в название. Например, файл File:Українка. Ukrainian.jpg лучше назвать file:Ukrainian girl by Nikolay Rachkov (2nd half 19 c., Chernigov museum).jpg. Я переименовываю. И обязательно добавляйте категории автора! например category:Nikolay Rachkov находится за 2 секунды.--Shakko (talk) 21:12, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    • Скажите пожалуйста, зачем вы убрали с категории национальной одежды Все изображения ??? Жду побольше вежливости , вся эта работа стоит очень много времени, которого у меня не достаточно.

      • Не переживайте, пожалуйста. Увы, википедия так устроена, что постоянно кто-то приходит и что-то за тобой изменяет. Из категории национальной одежды все изображения были разложены по папкам category:National costumes of Ukraine in museums‎, "фотографии", "искусство" и так далее. "Нигде вы не найдёте эту категорию пустую" - это лишь потому, что там лежат неразобранные иллюстрации. В идеале все будет разобрано по более маленьким категориям. Если вы хотите, чтобы было место, где будут лежать "самые актуальные" изображения, то не стоит надеяться, что статус кво сохранится внутри категории. Чтобы сохранить этот набор самых актуальных иллюстраций, пожалуй, вам стоит создать страницу National costumes of Ukraine и добавить в нее одноименную категорию. А внутри этой страницы, как в обычной статье в википедии, вы можете сделать подборку галерею по вашему выбору. (Я ведь правильно понимаю, что вы занимаетесь костюмом профессионально? это будет очень полезная страница). Вот пример страницы, как это может выглядеть Maria Magdalene. Ее, в отличие от наполнения категорий, никто менять не будет, а если будет, то вы сможете хотя бы посмотреть историю правок. --Shakko (talk) 06:52, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    • мои изменения - только в рамках правил этого проекта о системе категоризации. Чтобы все было удобно находить. Файлов так много, что в них можно утонуть. Например, подкатегории типа "кожух", "свитка" и другие предметы можно объединить в одну общую category:national costumes of Ukraine by name. --Shakko (talk) 06:52, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    • Добрый вечер, я не очень разбираюсь в правилах категоризации ( пока на это нет времени и желания), мне более интересно информация, по одной или другой теме, чем правила оформления этой информации. Поэтому надеюсь на исправления и помощь от других. Так что спасибо за помощь. У меня правда есть свои мнения, с точки зрения пользователя этой информации, как та или др. категория должна выглядеть. Я делаю только те темы, которые меня интересуют. В том числе и укр. нац. костюм. Хотя эта тема для меня принципиально важна, проф. я этим не занимаюсь. Я знаю, что не совсем точно иногда даю названия подкатегориям, но я более теоретик, чем практик. Жаль, что у вас нет возможности или желания изучать язык своих дедов. Английский больше понимаю, чем говорю или пишу, поэтому на русском более удобно, хотя если знаеш больше, чем один язык, то ни один не знаеш на таком уровне, как одноязычные.

В категор. национал. одежды нужны ёще подкатег. : одежда класса мещан и укр. аристократии (шляхты), так как одежда аристократии есть только нв портретах, поэтому подкатегорию я назвала Category:Ukrainian nobility in portrait paintings.

Спираючись на це, НП «Вікімедіа РУ» та спільнота російських учасників вікіпроектів цього року проводить щорічний фотоконкурс «Вікі любить пам'ятки» в Росії уже із Кримом у своїх конкурсних списках.
