Tires

Your "physical" explanation about the sun, the snow, the tires etc deserved a discussion, IMO. ✓ Done.

Good idea, but now I am tired and will go to bed! --Slaunger (talk) 23:51, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for what you have done recently. I realize it was not an easy or pleasant task, but it was a very necessary one. More than the disruption caused by an individual to the project, the credibility of the admin system was being affected. Sure, it would have been better if the move were made by an administrator. Unfortunately, most of them were too much involved or have personally contributed, in a negative way, to the mess of yesterday. Maybe it is time for the community to take a deeper look on how administrative powers are attributed, used and controlled. It certainly have crossed your mind to apply for the job. I will gladly support your nomination. Alvesgaspar (talk) 11:56, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi Alves, I can confirm that I did not enjoy it, but I do not think I am to be thanked for anything in thsi repsect. It ended bad with the (hopefully temporary) loss of a valued contributor and a good collaborator — when in Dr. Jekyll state.
I have been asked previously about becoming an admin, and I am quite clarified on that matter: No thanksClin. I have never missed the tools (well, maybe to edit a protected template occasionally, but that has not been a major problem). Even if I were granted the tools, I would be constantly stressed by all the admin backlogs. Nor would I have the time to do it properly. I tend to be on and off on Commons for several months of the time, and I think admins should have a reasonably high availability. Moreover, I am not good at taking "heat" for extended periods of time, although recently, my skin has grown thicker — comes with the new decade perhaps.
I am grateful and appreciate that there are other users willing to undertake the admin task and carry out the needed activities, for which they seldomly get the appraisal they deserve. I think a vast majority of the admins we have are doing an absolutely great job. I also understand when — occasionally — an admin makes an severe error, as long as the admin acknowledges the error afterwards and does his best for it not to happen again. --Slaunger (talk) 17:48, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Cajal at FPN

I feel I have fixed your concerns. If you believe the picture is worth it please vote, since the FPN ends tomorrow and the image has 6 positive votes, no opposses, so it needs only one more to be promoted. Bests.--Garrondo (talk) 10:18, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Dear Garrondo, sorry, but I was only able to edit Commons before after the nomination had closed. I see the photo got promoted anyway . Congratulations. I probably would not have voted though, as I normally abstain if someone hints to me that they would like me to consider voring in a specific manner - in this case to support it, to avoid any speculations about vote canvassing. --Slaunger (talk) 19:13, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
