Panoramic

I have commented on your panorama attempt. Now I read that you have a physics PhD as well, I was wondering if I'd written too technically ;-) -- Klaus with K 12:05, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the lack of sharpness in one photo, I wonder whether some sharpening could salvage it. Of course one has to be careful, Image:Abertura Jogos Panamericanos 1 13072007.jpg is an example of deconvolution gone wrong. Probably one should not sharpen the sky, no detail there but noise would be increased (cat in microwave disclaimer: of course do only manipulate a copy while keeping your original image safe). -- Klaus with K 09:09, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Can you take some help on overexposed parts of Image:Nunâ Upernavik district 2007-08-09 1 cropped smart sharpened.jpg? Thanks --Beyond silence 03:49, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I do it (Image:Nunâ Upernavik district-c.jpg)! I delete that incredible black thing too (Ikiwaner have a damned good eye...) I don't prefer the needless duplicates so I ask you delete the original file if you like the new more. Thanks --Beyond silence 23:55, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Panorama blending seam avoiding persons

Hi Slaunger, regarding your question on blending Image:Tuebingen Neckarfront 2006-06-11.jpg, there is the new version enblend 3.0 with an experimental seam finder. So far in creating the blend mask to "separate" the two images in the overlapping area enblend attributes a point inside to the nearest image outside. The experimental feature is to run the line along the minimum of differences between the two images. Obviously this algorithm avoids a moving object most of times, and it is this new enblend 3.0 feature I had been using. -- Klaus with K 12:22, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Just to quickly point out that the sky above the centre of the rock seems to be darker than on the sides. How come? From Image:Dornstetten Kübelbachviadukt02rect 2006-10-17.jpg on does see that the sky changes with direction, but I feel that it should be a more gradual change than on your image. Regarding your bad experience of being limited to 26 photos in a series, with the improvements to hugin almost out of the pipeline I think that it may no longer be necessary to switch a camera to panoramic mode. With my Canon Powershot A95, in panoramic mode neither can I set "low sharpening" nor choose manual focussing. -- Klaus with K 13:50, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
If you wish to try out a hugin work-in-progress version look at http://hugin.sf.net/snapshots/windows but instead you might prefer to spend your time taking photos instead ;) while in Greenland. -- Klaus with K 15:03, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

More on panoramas

Hi Slaunger, been on a tour through the Scottish Highlands, gorgeous weather, but found out that my camera did not always focus properly, in particular in the tele range, despite a suitable structure in view and me not shaking the camera. Just to let you know that although I know the issues they do sometimes hit me nevertheless. Maybe I turn to full manual control for time, aperture and distance for upcoming panoramic sequence shots. -- Klaus with K 14:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for telling me. I'll be looking forward to seeing your Highland pictures. I'm now back in a less exciting environment (Denmark) and after struggling almost a week with my ISP I am also online again. -- Slaunger 20:02, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

your first fp

Gratz for your first FP. Yes iam not finished with the closing process. Didt have time to go on yet. I will do that shortly --Simonizer 21:32, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
