Category discussion warning

Category:Spring_ability has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Stop slandering me!![edit]

Stop slandering me with your massive false allegations (see above) that my generous uploads to the Commons are unlikely to be (my) own work mostly due to the imgflip.com watermarks on them. Those watermarks, by the way, are routine technical marks of my using the company software called Animated GIF Generator for transforming my original videos into the format acceptable in the Commons. Due to the foregoing, I request your immediate removing of all your fraudulent Deletion requests with the apology for misrepresenting my generous uploads to the Commons as unlikely to be (my) own work.ShustovVal (talk) 09:42, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Combat vandalism: reason for deletion - "he works as a professor" (?!)[edit]

On 12 January 2015, Diego Grez posted requests for deletion on the following files uploaded by me:

with the reason "he works as a professor"(?!) What do you think about it?ShustovVal (talk) 02:01, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
For documents published outside Wikimedia before being uploaded here without a free license, we required a formal written permission. That concerns your files made from videos from YouTube. Please see COM:OTRS for the procedure. Another solution is too change the license on YouTube. The files could be restored once this is done. And I think it would be much more useful to import the videos, rather than making poor quality GIFs. Regards, Yann (talk) 16:13, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Yann: There are a few questions to you:

1) Do you approve the Diego Grez reason for deletion "he works as a professor" as a legitimate one?
I won't comment about that. My actions are based only on evidence: information in the description, license, source, author, copies on the web, etc. Yann (talk) 22:05, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am talking about the evidence too, namely, about starting deletion process of my files on false pretense. Anyway, if you comment me, why shouldn't you comment Diego Grez too?ShustovVal (talk) 06:45, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2) Why should I "import the videos, rather than making poor quality GIFs"? Are the videos also good for the Commons?
Yes, videos are also good for Commons. Yann (talk) 22:05, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A few minutes ago, I tried to upload the original video of File:Squats with 600 lbs load.gif (deleted by you) but failed. Apparently, videos are not permitted in Commons.ShustovVal (talk) 06:45, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

3) What I need to do to "change the license on YouTube"?
You need to check with YouTube. Sorry, I don't know myself, as I have never uploaded anything there. I upload everything here directly. Yann (talk) 22:05, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why should I go to YouTube if the work is mine and I have the originals?ShustovVal (talk) 06:45, 19 January 2015 (UTC) Thanks, ShustovVal (talk) 20:50, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What about DISCUSSION ???[edit]

As I mentioned above, on 12 January 2015 Diego Grez posted requests for deletion on the following files uploaded by me:

On 15 January 2015, I responded with the question whether the reason for request "he works as a professor" is a legitimate one. On 18 and 20 January 2015, Yann deleted the files "per deletion requests" without answering my questions. And what about DISCUSSION??? ShustovVal (talk) 21:33, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright and permission[edit]

Hi, If a picture is published before being uploaded to Commons, a permission is needed, and it is YOUR responsibility to show that it is yours, not us. And as I already said, you better upload videos than poor quality GIFs. See Commons:Videos for help. Regards, Yann (talk) 14:37, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My file File:Pull-up on one and another.gif is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license. • The reason for this DR was stated by Jameslwoodward as follows: "The uploader is the subject of these images and therefore cannot be the photographer. The claim of "own work" is clearly not correct."
No way! There is a device invented about a century ago. Its name is "self-timer". According to Wikipedia, "A self-timer is a device on a camera that gives a delay between pressing the shutter release and the shutter's firing. It is most commonly used to let photographers to take a photo of themselves".
Due to foregoing, will you remove your DR, please? Thanks. ShustovVal (talk) 20:04, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

UNBLOCKING REQUEST[edit]

In my above topic "Stop manipulating with my Talk page" I maid a complain that my current Talk page at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:ShustovVal had received its new version at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Shustov where all the first 26 Content items were not the items been discussed lately. By asking "Who did it and why?" I, practically, requested your investigation of this illegal activity. On the other hand, to avoid any possible accusations of sockpuppetting when, a few years ago, I had to change my user name from User:Shustov to User:ShustovVal (I was unable to log in under my initial user name then), I made a visible transfer: thus, if you click on User:ShustovVal, you will find out:

See: User:Shustov File:Senior Defence-7.gif
which means that both Users are the same person.

Due these facts, I request unblocking me. Thanks. ShustovVal (talk) 21:33, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand your first sentence above. Nothing has been done to manipulate your talk page. The new DR notice was placed at User talk:Shustov by the script because User:Shustov had made the uploads.
It is clear that you have been using three accounts. That is permitted, with disclosure, for limited purposes. What is not permitted is for you to use one account to comment about the other accounts. It is clear that you yourself are mixing them up, as I mentioned at User_talk:Shustov#A_snicky_tag_on_my_file._Why.3F -- if you had been using only one account, that would not have happened. That is why I blocked your two later accounts. I see no reason to reverse that..     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 11:15, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jameslwoodward: It was really misleading situation that I created, you are right! I will be much happier with my initial account of User:Shustov which gives me some hope of our better mutual understanding in the future. My best!

P.S. When I'll be able to act on behalf of User:Shustov, by the way? At this time, I am still blocked on all my accounts and cannot respond to any comments. ShustovVal (talk) 20:19, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My question to Jim[edit]

@Jameslwoodward: Is it true that, according to your response of 11:15, 9 February 2015 (UTC), you blocked my two later accounts only and left my initial User:Shustov account unblocked? Thanks. ShustovVal (talk) 22:12, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That is correct. In the case of problems with multiple accounts, we generally leave the earliest one unblocked, so I did not block User:Shustov. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 22:34, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jameslwoodward: I tried to log in User:Shustov but received "Your user name or IP address has been blocked." What's wrong? ShustovVal (talk) 06:56, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Try logging into your Shustov account now. I've applied an IP block exemption to the account, as your IP is likely still blocked because of this account's block. INeverCry 05:07, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to log in again but failed despite of my IP block exemption. The message was: "Your IP address or user name has been automatically blocked. ... The autoblock expires in 16:50, 15 February 2015." According to my previous experiance, I do not believe the promissed expiration will come true. ShustovVal (talk) 18:54, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Revi: I have never been using two or more accounts at a time. My changing of accounts had nothing to do with 'abusing' but was a necessary measure: I merely couldn't log into my initial account called User:Shustov and had to change it, finally, for User:ShustovVal which is a quite valid reason for such changing. Besides, if you click on User:ShustovVal, you will see User:Shustov page there with the inscription "The original page is located at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Shustov". What kind of abuse you are talking about?? By the way, despite of my IP block exemptions, I am, practically, restricted from duly responding to massive deletion campaign on my files because my user names and IP address have been blocked. Isn't it a real abuse of my User group rights?? ShustovVal (talk) 08:42, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Warning[edit]

ShustovVal, in at least the past month you have routinely and repeatedly impugned others and failed to assume good faith; for example (with emphasis added):

  • "Stop slandering me with your massive false allegations" [3]
  • "Combat vandalism" [4]
  • "this illegal activity" [5]
  • "rediculous (sic) pretexts" [6]
  • "massive deletion campaign" [7]

Consider this a final warning regarding your behaviour; if you continue to create a hostile environment, you will lose the ability to edit your talk page and/or edit with your unlocked account (User:Shustov). You may wish to read COM:MELLOW. Эlcobbola talk 16:20, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Elcobbola: You know well what's going on with my files which are disappearing every single day now while I cannot explain anything by participating in discussions because my user name User:Shustov and IP address (despite of my IP block exemptions!) still remain blocked. Why?! If you put yourself in my shoes, you will, probably, understand my frustration. Anyway, I will do my best to be as nice with all your friends as possible. My apology to everybody!
