Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Copyrights

Hello Sander, can you please send an email per COM:OTRS using the template provided with permission for all the screenshot and other official images you have uploaded? The television series is made by Alain de Levita and Remko Peters for their production companies, and as such I do not think you can release them. So in your email, can you also forward emails from them releasing the images into the Public Domain? If this permission is not received, you images will be deleted. Hi Deadstar,

Bedankt voor je bericht over de foto's.

Ik heb een mail gestuurd naar permissions-commons@wikimedia.org om de officiele permissie vrij te geven. 5 foto's zijn gemaakt met mijn eigen camera en ik ben de enige rechthebbende. 2 zijn screens van materiaal van mijn eigen homevideo camera. De enige waarvan ik niet de rechthebbende ben is de onderstaande. Die is van NL film, maar is vrijgegeven en wordt op vele websites gebruikt. Daar heb ik ook een verklaring van en die heb ik ook doorgestuurd naar Wikimedia Commons.
