Schön :-)[edit]

Hallo Rolf, schön, dass Du auch hier direkt auf Commons beiträgst :-) Deine bisherigen Beiträge solltest Du nur möglichst schnell mal auf Vollständigkeit der Bildangaben durchsehen, so wie bei Image:Alte Prager Straße.jpg fehlt manchmal was (das würde auf de.wikipedia genauso bemängelt *g*). Bei einigen der Bilder habe ich übrigens schon die Lizenzbausteine korrigiert von GPL nach GFDL (ein kleiner, aber bedeutender Unterschied). Die erste Lizenz ist nämlich eigentlich nur für Software und ggf. Screenshots gedacht, während die GFDL die vielzitierte GNU-FDL ist ... das wird manchmal verwechselt, bist nicht der einzige, dem das passiert. Hoffe also, es passt nun so. Ansonsten noch ein kleiner Tipp: Wenn Du am besten direkt beim Hochladen bei "own work" noch 3 Tilden einfügst, z.B. als "own work by ~~~", dann ist sofort Dein Nick verlinkt und wenn das Bild woanders eingebunden wird, können Interessierte (bspw. bei Fragen) Dich ohne Umwege kontaktieren (die Hochladezeile wird nämlich nur auf Commons angezeigt). Was ich damit meine, siehst Du im Vergleich von Bild:Lausche2.jpg (mit Nick) und Bild:Jedlová Winter.jpg (ohne Nick), beide woanders eingebunden. Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Category:Bahnhof Großpostwitz[edit]

Es tut mir sehr leid, aber so etwas sehe ich nicht ein. Der Kategoriensystem verkommt immer mehr zu einer Social Tagging-Suppe, mit der ein Suchender immer weniger anfangen kann, weil er immer weniger findet. Schlimmstenfalls nur wie hier zwei, oft nur nur eins oder sogar gar kein Bild mehr. Für mich ist das ein Anzeichen dafür, dass sich die Kategorien immer mehr zu einer Parallelwelt entwickeln, die rein zum Selbstzweck existiert. --TMg 22:52, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. Kunststoffschwelle[edit]

Hallo Rolf, ob man dieses Zurücksetzen gleich als Lebensmittel bezeichnen muss, sei mal dahin gestellt. Aber ich stimme dir zu, dass "Bahnhof Kipsdorf" keineswegs eine treffendere Kategorie war als "Weißeritztalbahn", man erkennt auf dem Bild beides nicht. Insofern war meine Umkategorisierung keine Verbesserung. Mir ist das beim Aufräumen einfach durchgerutscht, ich hatte mich vom Dateinamen leiten lassen als ich die vielfältigen Doppelkategorisierungen bereinigt hatte, die unseren Mitstreitern beim Hochladen leider passiert waren und zur Unübersichtlichkeit der Weißeritztalbahn-Kategorie einschließlich ihrer Unterkategorien beigetragen hatten. Davon unbenommen: Was hältst du davon, dein Bild, von dem wir hier gerade reden, in einer der passenden Schwellen-Katagorien oder Gleis-Kategorien einzuordnen? Dort gehört es m.E. inhaltlich mindestens genauso gut hin wie räumlich zur Weißeritztalbahn. Ich bin nur nicht Ingenieur genug, um die passende Schwellenkategorie zu finden. Vielleicht gibt es sogar noch gar keine Kategorie für die Kunststoffschwellen – dann bliebe die vorgenannte allgemeine Schwellen-Kategorie. Dass was du mit meiner Datei getan hast, ist genau das, was diese Enzyklopädie so Stück für Stück kaputt macht. Jeder denkt sich irgendwas, editiert *irgendwie* drin herum, und ist wieder weg. Wenn die Autoren betroffener Dateien nicht mehr aktiv sind, wird so etwas NIE auffallen. Dann wäre das Gleisstück eben plötzlich im Bahnhof Kipsdorf und die Falschinformation hätte in alle Ewigkeit Bestand. Angesichts der Tatsache, dass wir uns eigentlich imemr mal wieder über den Weg laufen, halte ich dein Vorgehen im Übrigen für besonders befremdlich. Hättest doch fragen können, wo ich fotografiert habe?! Und wenn du den Baufortschritt verfolgt hättest, wäre dir ohnehin klar gewesen, dass das fragliche Gleis nicht im Bahnhof liegen kann. Zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt lag das Gleisende noch weit vor dem Bahnhof, es lag etwa in Höhe der (heute leerstehenden) Eisenbahnerwohnhäuser, da oberhalb noch an der Stützmauer gebaut wurde. --Rolf-Dresden (talk) 18:17, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wie gesagt: ist mir wegen des Dateinamens leider durchgerutscht beim Aufräumen der bis vor wenigen Tagen mit sinnlosen Mehrfachkategorisierungen überfüllten Weißeritztalbahn-Kategorie. Leider arbeiten nicht alle Fotografen und Datei-Hochlader so gründlich wie du, manchen unserer Kollegen muss man leider hinterherräumen. Es kümmern sich nach dem Hochladen eben nicht mehr alle um ihre Dateien. Für diese Präzisierung, auch hinsichtlich Beschreibung, bin ich dir jedenfalls sehr dankbar! Ich staune manchmal, was man so findet (und nebenbei lernt) - wenn die Bilder eben richtig beschrieben und kategorisiert sind. Neulich zum Beispiel erst einige Tunnelbilder.
